Kovu, Hasani, Kiara, Shida, Sananga.

Upon Kovu and Kiara being recognized as the new King and Queen of Pride Rock, the pair began passing rules to the new generation. From now on, it didn't matter if you were the youngest or oldest in the litter. You got a say in your destiny. Kovu especially wanted this change after this old tradition ruined Nuka's life. This came to the relief of Sananga who wanted to help reform the Lion Guard after the fall of Kion. Under her new system was placed, she dubbed it the Lion Knights, thus removing the problematic history the Guard had carried for generations. Sananga was strong willed and a no nonsense lioness, she had a critical eye about everything like her dad and wanted to go out of her way to keep her home safe from threats. Hasani had survived Kion's attack and bore his scars with pride. He himself agreed to undergo his training to be king. He was a touch cynical after coming so close to death, but his heart was in the right place when it came to love, just like his mother. Meanwhile their youngest brother Shida was a bold and mischievous cub. He took after his mom and would often run head first into trouble. This would lead to many lectures by his father later. But he couldn't help it. His big sis was the new general of the knights and Hasani was going to be king. Shida didn't know what to do with himself. He would confide in his granny Nala who would hear him out with very little judgement. Just having an open minded voice to talk to made Shida incredibly close to Nala. Kovu himself was left crippled in his right paw after Kion tried to have him killed, but he tried to put up a strong facade for the sake of his pride and family. They depended on him now with Simba gone and he couldn't show weakness.

Suddenly the Pridelands were hit with a massive flood. The rain season just showed no signs of stopping. In the commotion Hasani and his friends rescued a cub named Akina. She said two white lions had killed her family and one tried to force her to be his mate. Worst yet they rode on the backs of elephants. Kovu thought it was strange, but Kiara remembered the Ivory War Askari fought in. According to the tale Askari teamed up with a heard of elephants after a pride of white lions enslaved a rival heard. They threatened to take over Pride Rock and had to be stopped. The fight was so bloody it created the elephant graveyard they know today and all the bodies were eaten by the hyenas. Such a pride was thought to be have rendered extinct. But clearly a few endured.

Sure enough the white rogues approached demanded them to fork over Akina or face the wrath of their massive elephants. Sananga was more than eager to face them, but Kovu stepped in. It was his kingdom and it was his duty to fight for it. The oldest of the rogues challenged him, Hasira. The pair fought brutally, but Hasira soon discovered Kovu's well kept secret-- his crippled paw. Hasira took pleasure in taking down the king of Pride Rock in front of his family. To humiliate him more, he ordered his elephants to take Kovu's dead body and drag it through the swampy flood ground. Kiara was absolutely shattered, she had no choice... they had to go to war. Sananga was furious, against her superior's orders she sneaked her way into the brother's camp and slaughtered one of them. But to her frustration it was Hanjani the brother, not Hasira. On her return she found Kovu's trampled body and brought him back home to be laid to rest. Akina was beyond horrified she thought about giving herself up so no one else had to die in her place. But Hasani assured her giving up like that wasn't going to solve anything, and now knowing what Hasira had done to both of them now he only grew to care about her more. Nala knew the death of Hanjani was going to create a chain reaction, she had to reach Kopa's pride in the mountains. Such a trek in these rushing flood waters would be dangerous for a lioness of her age, but she had to go. Sananga would be the first lion of defense with her knights and Kiara had to be the leader now. Nala was making progress in her secret mission until she found Shida following her. She scolded him for straying so far, but knowing that time was of the essence now she had to allow him to come with her. Shida rode on her back while she swam the rushing waters. But further down the storm picked up and thrashed the grandmother and grandson away from each other. Nala was swept to Kopa's pride while Shida was washed up to the Tree of Life where Queen Rani found him.
