gumroad.com/products/oqZXV

Okay guys, for the first time ever I've made these essential tutorials available here on Deviantart..

This includes :

1. Prepping Line Art for Color - Explaining how to use photoshop to clean up pencil scans for digital coloring. You have seen my work, it looks inked, but it never is!

2. Flatting - Explaining how to "flat" a piece so you can go speed up your coloring process to almost twice as fast!

3. Color Holds - Explaining that technique where you turn the black lines another color.

After some time, I will also add more. If you would like to join me on patreon and be updated monthly with new basic and advanced tutorials, as well as study and practice material

go to www.patreon.com/neiruffino

and of course, the first one is free

Thank you SO much Ms. Toolkitten! Β I'm subscribing. Β I think you are the best with your technique and style, and I know I will learn a lot from you, being I am new to Photoshop. Β I am honored you are willing to share, and at a great value. Β  Β

Do you find Patreon something of a double edged sword? It is obviously good for artists, especially ones who have day jobs, but it limits the field for those of us who want artists for original art, book illustrations and covers. (I loathe generic, off-the-peg, book coversΒ Β )
Β
I am a big fan of your work but having already offered money for a commissioned image that I wanted in a book, and been turned down, I won't be paying you to do your own thing through Patreon (unless the fantasy film deal becomes a reality, of course Β Β )
Every other author I have spoken to is of the same mind, if we are looking for good artists we no longer bother offering work to any who have links to Patreon on their pages.

BTW, Campbell is a bloody good artist, but you are better.

Keep up the good art!

well patreon can be a very big undertaking, but it allows me to do things ive always wanted to do. aside from the money which is nice, it gives me a platform to teach and lets me generate content i own and can use for whatever i choose, rather thn something i only get paid for once, i.e. a commission or freelance job. in the end it generates content that can span onto many platforms for me, as well as give my watchers something they have been asking me to do for years.

i guess its on a level past one or two jobs i might miss out on otherwise, but one off freelance jobs that i dont have time for because patreon exists in my life, well, there are other artists out there ready and willing for them.

and to me, its a site that gives artists a valuable resource, and its limited to artists otherwise it doesnt really benefit anybody. but in the end, thats what im trying to do with it.

I do not begrudge you Patreon, despite it narrowing the field for those like me who need damn good artists like youΒ Β

It would be nice if there was a similar application for writers, but that will never happen.Β

More power to your pencil!

Gumroad is a website a little bit like Patreon - you can support your creators there.
It is different to Patreon in these essential things, though:

- You can host big files on Gumroad (This isn't possible on Patreon.)
- People's money gets withdrawn instantly (not like on Patreon where you have to wait for the monthly cycle to be completed)
- This means people don't have to wait for your content. The moment they pay is the moment they obtain it.
