Description

  [This is an analysis of a character from my story Project: Gaia. Each Planetess is shown in their underwear, however they normally wear clothing of some kind. The following is a short story featuring a random sequence in this character's life.]

  “Oh...I think I see them! They’re really tiny. Tiny, but kinda cute…”

    Saturn scanned Gaia’s left arm as she held it out. Most planetesses had strong enough vision to look at the landmasses on her surface and be able to individually pick out each human, but most of her friends didn’t bother looking. However, Saturn has always been curious in what makes Gaia so different from normal planets.

    “Well since there are around 8 billion of them, I’d hope they’d be small so that there was enough room for them to move around.” Gaia pointed out as tried to ignore just how close Saturn was to her.

    “Wow...8 billion? That’s so many! And you’re the only planetess I know with any humans at all! I wish I had humans. But I don’t think I could support any on my surface. After all, I’m mostly just gas.” Saturn said, her cat ears drooping in sadness. Gaia reached up with her other hand and gently petted the top of Saturn’s head, bringing the smile back to her face.

“Hey, don’t be so gloomy: you’re still a cool planet! I mean, look at all your rings! They’re so shiny too! Almost like they were made of pure gold.” Gaia said.

“Yeah, they may look like that. But they’re all just dust and rock. It’s not like they can build huge cities or anything. Man, humans are so cool! They’re like little planets: kinda like all of us.” Saturn noted.

The bus stopped with a jolt. As the doors opened up, many other planets on board got up and began to file off. “I guess this is our stop.” Gaia said as she got up herself. Saturn nodded and got up too, following the shorter girl off the bus and onto the sidewalk. In her mind, Gaia hoped that they could get to school on time, but she didn’t want to rush: especially since Saturn wasn’t one to hurry and didn’t like to run much.

As they walked together, side by side, Saturn stared at Gaia: specifically her landmasses. “Do they...talk to you?” She asked.

“I...uh...I’m connected to them via this thing called an ‘Internet.’ It’s kinda like ‘InterStellar’ in the way that both of them are services that connect people digitally from all over. The only difference is that I don’t think humans can connect to the Interstellar the way we do. But yeah, I can read all of the articles they post of their various sites and stuff. But I typically don’t talk to them, not unless an important world leader wants to get in touch with me.” She said.

After a pause, Saturn spoke again. “Do they ever talk about me?” She asked.

Gaia racked her mind to think of a time humans mentioned her taller friend. “Well, there are plenty of websites about space and stuff, and they write a lot of articles that include science facts about you. Like how you’re the least dense planetess among my group of friends.” She said.

“What does that mean?” Saturn inquired.

Gaia shrugged. “I don’t know. Sounds like it could be a compliment.”

Saturn was quiet again for a few minutes. They walked another block or so and had stopped at the crosswalk before she spoke again. “Well...if they ever find a way to connect to the Interstellar, then I’m open to answering any questions they have about myself.” She said.

Gaia was looking across the street at the moment so she didn’t quite catch that. But her attention was definitely drawn when Saturn suddenly put her hand on her shoulder and got in uncomfortably close again: her rather large breasts pressing up against Gaia’s arm as the taller Planetess looked down at the landmass on her chest. “Did you hear that, humans? You can ask me any question about me that you want to know!” She said with her face practically an inch above her bosom.

The two of them stood there awkwardly with Gaia tensed up and blushing while Saturn was practically nuzzling her shorter friend’s breasts. After a moment, Saturn stepped back. “I...think I might have spooked them a little bit.” She said quietly.

“Yeah...I think they got the message.” Gaia replied, not sure if she appreciated Saturn’s curiosity more than she deprecated how close Saturn got when they talked.
