Description My favourite work of 2018 . Hand-carved silver feather, covered with colourful patina in shades of gold, red and purple. The stone is amazing sunstone, glittering in the light like real embers. It was inspired by Firebird occurring in old, Russian folk tales - a blazing, peacock-like bird with magical feathers.

Thanks ! Yeah, the stone is really beautiful, it has many tiny particles that glimmer and shine in the light! It's a shame it can't be shown accurately on the photo.

I love sunstone (and it's family; moonstone, and especially labradorite). I've found it hard to find ones that dense with colour!

Thank you so much! The patina is regular liver of sulfur, the trick is to dissolve it in hot water and dipping the silver for just a few seconds and pulling it out before it gets dark grey/black .
