Description
Been snowing pretty fiercely in my neck of the woods for the past few days (leading to school being canceled, huzzah!) so I whipped this up to celebrate.Ended up practicing a bit with shading styles. (It's been a really long time since I've really bothered shading anything I produce.) Dunno if I like the effect or not. :/
The lamp post is a stock from sxc.hu.

I think this is really well drawn! From sketch (like actual skill) lines and colour!
...only thing could be the right cheek doesnt match the left one..... but it still looks cool!

Haha, yeah, that was unfortunately a stylistic detail of mine at the time. I've since moved past drawing opposite cheeks like that, but like the piece too much to hide it away. XD

Awesome! How'd you manage the snow effects? And I like the shading - though it seems a bit softer in some spots.
And the hat - I wants it.

I just used a soft fuzzy brush to draw in a couple of snowflakes, then copy/paste/merged it down until I had a layer of snow. Then I duplicated it, shrank it down and repeated the process so I had a layer of background snow, then did it again and made the layer twice as big, for the big flakes.
And the shading is softer in places! You have good eyes. I had about 4 different layers of shading, couldn't decide which one I liked most, and ended up using them all.
I love the hat! I have one like it, but it's black white and gray and has patterns on it.

I did that. Sadly, it barely helped. :/ Not that it matters that much, I guess - these colors are kinda growing on me.
