I really have a thing for mermaids with unusual tails - taking into account other options in the ocean, rather than just fish. I can't quite work out if she was ray or eel inspired.

I love your mermaid. Still beautiful but inhuman and then the silver skin, never seeing sun. That she has no nipples I like to, since she doesn't really need them, does she? But what I love the most is her tail. How her tail CONNECTS to her torso, not like the tail was fishlike and the upper part are some human remains from her ancestors but that EVOLUTION caused them to be one. It looks like she's pretty comfortable with the sea and her tail is long and unique and you see her going up from the dark ground.
She looks alien, unique. Brillian work.

LOVE the tail! personally i don't like when the tail is the length of potential legs - having a longer or more elaborate-shaped tail, away from the 'Little Mermaid' look makes mermaids look so much more like... well, fish. But in a good way. After all, they were half fish, often dangerous, with dark side to them etc.

whats wrong with a stingray? it makes the image look cool and more like a real mermaid might. it seems logical to me that they would look more like fish than humans. i mean, they live in the sea dont they? they should have taken on the characteristics of the creatues around them to suit their habitat. ITS AWESOME!
