I am still hoping, however faintly and in vain, that Irene will just suddenly pop back into the storyline and turn out to have been fine all along and then she marries Teresa and they ride off in the sunset together

I did like the reunion, but it was hard to get over how stupid and badly written everything else was. Like, c'mon, this is Teresa. She deserves better than to be a lazy writer's deus ex machina solution to creating a villain sue.
