Very nice work, for a minute I though it was one of the products GWSR, then I saw that crest and then remembered this one

Thank you. Good on you for noticing the barely discernible drawing of the LT&S crest on the tanks!

It was the wheel arrangement and the I looked at the crest and something jingled in the back of the head and that 4-4-2T tank 50 Thunderlsy sprang to mind

YUP
however, the thing is they are going to paint it in wartime black, which is a big no-no in my books. Umber Brown with pinstripes and head-codes out the wazoo is how I roll.

Umber Brown yes as a nod to the past, Maunsell green yes, Bullied Malachite green I'd like to see black no just a bit unflattering. There's enough mixed traffic and freight engines in that colour already with out adding another one, too much black.

too much black, yes. Im not a fan of the southern railway colors for the H class, but anything is better than black. Hell, give her polka dots- i still dont want BR black.

Baltic tank, nice! Reminds me a bit of a 4-6-4 version of the LNER's A8s.

oh yes, they are quite beautiful too. Atlantics are almost always beautiful in my opinion.

There aren't enough running. I can't think of a working one in the U.S.

There is not a single working atlantic type on the face of the planet, the only one that is for sure going to be running any time soon is a Brighton H2, one of my favorites.
of course, brits being brits, they feel they need to paint the engine in wartime black death. I dont get it.

I like the H2, my favorite locomotive of England. She should be in LBSC umber brown or Southern green. I guess it's their loco so I have no right to tell them what color to paint it.

i think they should only be in the umber brown paintwork, and give them all of their original headboards.
The H1's and H2's are one of my favorites, I hope to have one in 3.5'' or 5'' gauge one day in that paint scheme, with the headcodes.

This strongly resembles, if it has no actual prototype, a Central South African Railways 4-6-4T. Very handsome design.

the prototype for this engine was built by beyer peacock and is designed for the London Tilbury & Southend railway. This railway was taken over by the Midland Railway and were immediately painted red. In my opinion though the LT&SR harvest green with red pinstriping is billions better than MR red for these engines.
