Description Something completely different from me I made this unicorn as a gift for a friend because I didn't know what to get her for her birthday so I decided to make something myself. It took me like 1 hours and some minutes to make this little fella. Spent another 30mins painting some parts after hardening him. Last time when I molded modelling clay was like 10years ago "W" is for Wiktoria, friends name of course
I was thinking of starting making modelling clay figures for months now. You can concider this as the first from a series I'm gonna start soon And it won't be just unicorns and ponies. I want to do various things. Might even start selling them. Interested?

Me too Can't wait to buy more clay and start playing with it But have to wait two weeks until I get my payement first... I wish I had enough money to buy all the colours I saw at the store *w* But that would be way to expensive for now

SilvestianRose In reply to WickedJuti [2012-04-21 19:29:51 +0000 UTC]

LOL XD I know what you mean! LOL I used to make little dragons, and a pack of just plain white costs like fifteen dollars! XD

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-21 21:43:51 +0000 UTC]

wow that's a lot! it's not that much expensive here. The ones I bought for this unicorn costed round 3 dollars for a 56gram cube - pretty small, but surprisngly it was more than enough. You can also buy a pack of 6 colours for 1 dollar but these are crap I'm gonna stick with the good ones :d

LOL XD it
s probably just the brand. What brand do you buy? Haha

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-21 22:27:41 +0000 UTC]

It's called FIMO, by Staedler. It's German so dunno if you could have it in your country.

SilvestianRose In reply to WickedJuti [2012-04-22 00:19:49 +0000 UTC]

I think we have it, IDK, I've heard of it, but I buy sculpeyII. But I'll look into the fimo because it sounds cheaper XD

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-22 07:41:53 +0000 UTC]

That's what was holding me back for some time. All the artist here on DA ay they use sculpey, super sculpey, etc. I don't have those (I think) so sometimes in such cases it's hard to find sth the same, trying to translate when actually it's called differently. All I could get was modelling clay, one of the best named Fimo. Other than that the only "clay" I can get is the "real" clay (mud)which obviously ain't good for this kind of things

SilvestianRose In reply to WickedJuti [2012-04-22 22:20:55 +0000 UTC]

LOL XD the only reason I use it is because I can't stand the air drying stuff and for some reason it was the only brand I could find when in first started making things. And yeah, LOL, my backyard used to be full of clay, I tried it once, but it just crumbled.

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-25 19:53:32 +0000 UTC]

Well from what I heard it seems like a very good brand so it's good you found it yes, clay is very specific and not many people like to work with it.

SilvestianRose In reply to WickedJuti [2012-04-25 22:13:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah ^w^. And I onluy know one person who uses natural clay.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-26 09:27:06 +0000 UTC]

I think you really have to be dedicated to it 'cause natural clay needs so much effort put in keeping it, working on it, hardening it, etc. Definetely not for me

SilvestianRose In reply to WickedJuti [2012-04-26 22:24:27 +0000 UTC]

LOL XD yeah, me neither. And you have to keep the inside hollow otherwise it will explode in the oven.

WickedJuti In reply to SilvestianRose [2012-04-27 18:56:22 +0000 UTC]

yeah, it requiers a pro oven and good skills. I don't wanna risk that modelling clay is just fine xD

Oh! That's a pretty coo idea!! Thanks! I was just thinking what to sculp and I really like your suggestion I'm probably gonna start with ponies, buying colours bit by bit. I want to make some colorful things first. Later some realistic stuff ^^ and of course chibi characters
