Description _________________________

"Yote pinned his ears back and his eyes went wide, the poor guy, the water was frozen down stream so it was certainly cold! Dingo didn't seem to care as he took Danny across, while Yote held his tail up as high as could so it wouldn't get wet. The overo stallion trotted faster and faster, desperate to get to the other side, a plume of misty water rose from either side of both horses as they bravely forged the freezing Montana river."

__________________________

Aren't they pretty, and look I finally drew my trainer Danny! Never drawn water like this before, I think it looks somewhat horrifying but that's ok. The next few pics will be countryside pics, this is a long trip and it my take a while to find the herd.

Wow, this is amazing.

I am sure my horse Snooker can relate to Yote, I was riding him through deep water this summer and he did the same thing. xD

Yote has filled out so much! Look at that big Stud neck!? Lovely! I bet that river is COLD!!! He was a good horse to go through right away.

Yep he had filled out, I've been working on fading out his mane and tail too, not sure if it's noticable though. I just hope he'll back through on the way back

Aww I love those big manes... reminds me of reining horses... but no good on a working horse... and WAY too much maintenance! I have a dresssage horse, so it's gotta stay short for braiding haha and I like making it short enough in the winter so it stands up and looks kinda messy, goin all over the place

WickerWolfArt In reply to Huntress614 [2010-01-06 03:30:55 +0000 UTC]

It's a lot shorter than in his winter pic, trimmed it so it wouldn't be in the rider's face, you know cuz he's a working horse
I like the racehorses' manes it's like the hair is crimped or something

Huntress614 In reply to WickerWolfArt [2010-01-06 04:04:51 +0000 UTC]

Yup, working horses are definitely shorter mane horses.
I've never understood why they do the couple braids on race horses polls... but I've never really looked into it either haha!

Supposedly a braided forelock is for good luck, not sure about other braids though.

Well, I don't think so

A piece of art looks completely different to the artist though, I know this from experience

Its because I used the same outline for both riders, laziness never gains anything

Hahaha, cute! Some horses don't even like texture changes, if riding from a grassy area to a sandy area they balk!
