Here at last is my second and final entry to 's Weddings contest! After I did a Hunchback-themed pic for my first entry, I thought I would follow it up with a Hercules image, since both of those were released back to back in 1996-1997. I was mildly obsessed with this movie when I was a kid, and I remember trying and failing to draw Megara and the Muses several times. This style is REALLY HARD!! I had a thousand reference images up while I was drawing this.

Anyway, for this image I was able to look up "Grecian wedding" to get a lot of great inspiration for Meg's dress and hairstyle, and her bouquet, which is made up of several of the flowers Hercules gave her that night in the garden. For Hercules, I actually based the colors of his outfit off an old Barbie doll from a giftset that was released at the same time as the movie, with a few changes inspired by an image I found of Achilles. I decided to add a Greek arch in the background, so that this way it looks like either they were married under the arch, or Hercules is carrying Megara over the threshold of their home. I really liked the "groom carrying bride" pose for this picture, because it is a much more joyous echo of the way he saved her from the Underworld during the movie.

Anyway, I hope you like this picture, and I would also suggest that anyone who is interested should participate in the contest too! It's a perfect chance to celebrate Disney love.
