Back to the ganggggg
A few days passed, and there was no sign of the small colt's mother. Lachan grew more worried for the colt with each passing day. He barely looked old enough to be weaned from his mother, and with how quickly they were running out of grass within the gorge... Lachan was worried about trying to move him from the spot where he thinks his mother will return to. Within the few days, Fionn had become a lot less distressed abot being separated from his mother, perhaps Lachan's presence helped with that, but every small movement or rustle from the trees, Fionn immediately thinks it's his mother returning.
It was the same today. It started with a small rustle behind a bush. Fionn's head immediately jerked up from where he was grazing, ears pricked towards the bush. Lachan lifted his head to look. Fionn took a step towards the noise, Lachan snorted, "Hey, remember what we said about moving towards noises if we don't know what they are?" Fionn justed nodded, but he stood a little closer to the noise than what Lachan would have liked. He didn't smell anything dangerous... but still. Fionn began to answer him now, "I know, but it could be-" before he small colt could answer, a little rabbit jumped out of the shrubs, standing on his back feet looking up at Fionn. "A rabbit." Lachan answered, "That's all it is." He said softly, hoping the colt wouldn't be upset. The rabbit cleaned it's paws a little before hopping off through the mushrooms. Lachan went back to grazing after this, Fionn, however, did not. "No wait..." The colt mumbled. Lachan lifted his head once more, watching the colt closely, "Huh, what was that kid?" He asked. No answer came from Fionn, and before Lachan could ask again. The colt took off.
Lachan gasped, as the colt bolted off towards the forest. He quickly jumped into action galloping after the colt. But Fionn was fast, and Lachan was struggling to keep up. "Fionn! Wait! Where are you going?" He called. But Fionn didn't answer he just kept running. Lachan huffed a little before trying to pick up the pace, especially now that Fionn had into inot the woodland area. The fog was heavy in the mornings and the woods were dark, so Lachan had to keep his wits about him and his eyes tight on the colt so as not to lose him. As he continued his chase, Lachan's ears pricked up and he knew now why Fionn was rushing off. He could sense it now. It was another horse...
