Being fond of aquatic animals, i love this The details/textures on the shell and skin is incredible.
I also love the background texture I did a similar one as a school assignment but forgot the technique, I think it involved spreading salt on the half-dry layer of paint. May I ask how you obtained this nice, grainy mix of blue and green?

Yay! Me too! Turtles are one of my favorites too. (That and jelly fish!)
I actually didn't use any salt on the background, but I originally was planning to. I was certainly going for that look but managed to do this just by painting with a "wet on wet" sort of technique. I wet my paper and then dabbed on color with my brush really saturated and let it spread out over the water. I didn't blend any, just added more color where I felt it needed it.

Awesome work, love the contrast between the shell and the rest of the background/turtle. Pattern almost look like ingrained sea shells to me

Anyone brave enough to paint with ink has my praise and jealousy. And this is such a beautiful subject!

I love this water color. IT's so pretty, very eye catching and also extremely well put together.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want this on my wall.

Thank you so very much! I really appreciate it!
The original painting is only 4x6 inches but I'm hoping to have prints available soon in larger sizes. Definitely let me know if you're interested in either.

I'd love to hear about it. I bet I could get a poster of it, for my mom. We have a turtle over my computer in the living room. It's something my mom likes a lot, and she'd love your painting

This is super pretty. I like how the shell looks like it has plates of gold.

This is absolutely beautiful.  I love the colors, and the way the texture of the shell makes it appear as though the turtle is carrying the sun itself on its back (or better, a prism of suns!).  Magnificent work!
