Description When this guy packed up his paraglider and walked between me and the setting sun I had to grab the opportunity. . . I knew even as I took it that the photo was cliched, but it still worked OK.

Improved version of one of the oldest shots in my gallery - a poorly scanned film image

Thanks a lot. . . I was sitting on the beach, camera-in-hand, when I saw this guy walking along. I figured he'd have to walk between me and the setting sun. . . I took that tilt I think because to me the horizon wasn't the most important line in the shot. It looks like I halved the angle between the horizon and the sail. It just felt right. I could have straightened it on photoshop, but I still like it at this tilt.

Great one !!! But the horizon is not straight again

wildplaces In reply to vahu [2005-04-05 08:13:35 +0000 UTC]

The horizon is never straight. This is taken in the southern hemisphere. The photo should really be three quarters the way to upside down!

I much prefer the other one. . . If this one was on a postcard it might sell well, but to me it's got a bit of a postcardy look about it. Though I'm still happy to have taken it.
