A bit of artwork I've been working on here and there for the past few weeks. Meet Fallon. The most stunning combination of wolf, maned wolf, and barn owl you will ever meet. ^_^I know the underside of most barn owls wings are nearly pure white but there are some people out there who are gluttons for detail. Do you use lighter pencils for the lights and darker pencils for the darks or do you just shade lighter or darker to get the effect? As well, do you ever leave a space, other than the eyes, white for shine?

I start with my lightest colors first and work in layers. I do sometimes leave spaces for my lighter colors but will go over those areas with white afterwards just to really make the highlights come out.

Hey, this looks kind of look a drawing by my friend ruska-vellamo.deviantart.com a long time ago. :/ I know you said you got it from Windstone Editions, but then how would the tufts of fur and the tail look exactly the same...?

yeah but it's someone ELSES character. :I It's THEIRS. They put their own personality into it. Commission someone to draw you your own character but don't take others. Artists HATE that.

well I don't know why you'd ask wild. :I if you haven't noticed she doesn't like people using her art at all. just skim some of the comments on her page and on her deviations. Anyone uses her art they get taken down pretty quick. :/
