Description Alternative Title ... Smokey days "я" us.

This image taps into what I like most about doing landscape photography, that is, the joy of being alone in rugged country and in this modern day being able to explore (possibly still) unseen country. Unseen on foot.

If you are interested in the explorer Barrallier's route across the Nattai River and into the deep gorges of the Kanangra-Boyd Wilderness to what is now (up onto) the Oberon-Colong stock route, the mountains and places in this image are the ones mentioned, like Mounts Colong, Barrallier, and the Mootik Plateau this link might be of interest ... If you have taken a favourite thank you ... and thank you for stopping by my Gallery.

Warren.

Darkness-W1th1n, I'm pleased that you like the shot. Thank you Mate.

The retro treatment looks good and I'm very happy with this smoked out shot. I've spent many a long day cursing smoke in the mountains.

It is good to have a smokey day working for me ... not just choking me stinking the place up. This time of year fire in the mountains is to be totally feared.

There's so much to Australia that I, along with most others, have never seen. I'm very glad you take the time to show us what an incredible landscape it has, and hope to visit there myself one day. Also, you seem to care much for the land itself, which is a good thing; so many people these days take the world around them for granted.

D-W, I really appreciate your understanding of my work.

If you do come to visit, it would be my pleasure to show you a few of the places that are dear to me and I think still unspoilt and remaining untrodden.

Relatively speaking, very little true wilderness remains here. I'm lucky that where I like is close to home and very accessible ... while still remaining people free.

Thank you much, Warren. I like to travel, and prefer those places that Man has yet to destroy. Here in the states, when I go to a national park, for example, I always carry an extra bag in order to pick up any litter or refuse left behind by careless humans, and try to make as little impact on the environment as possible. It might take awhile, but I do plan on coming to Australia at some point, along with my lovely girlfriend.

There is definitely something quite serene about this scene. Kind of like looking at an old photo that was taken and processed many years back. Really neat. I really appreciate how your photos convey certain feelings/perceptions through their uniqueness. Very well done, Warren.

Laurice, thank you for a most rewarding comment. A comment this rewarding makes my day. I'm very pleased that one of my images is viewed in this light.

Gerardo, this treatment looks like the image is printed from a series of hand cut wood blocks. Certainly a retro-treatment that is fitting for what I wanted to convey.

I'm very happy with the image.
