SP, G'day.

I still like to put film through my Canon F-1 but only about 2-3 rolls a year now. Mostly it is just cheap Konika 100 ISO colour stuff at 2 bucks a roll, on special at Foxy Fast Fotos. It is somewhat ugly stuff as you can see. I still have rolls of Panatomic-X 32ASA in my freezer.

Now I have a new Canon DSLR, I'll now wear this one out like I tried to wear out my F-1. I'll photograph my F-1 and put a shot in my gallery, people will not believe this camers. The F-1 has been in the South Tasman Sea and in the Pacific Ocean and it still doesn't miss a beat, even after being submurged twice.

awesome thanks heaps for the info... I'm trying to learn as many of the things you can't learn from books on film as I can as I'm very much considering in investing a large chunk of my passion to analogue.

thanks again,
Mike.

Mike, I don't miss being immersed to my wrists in chemicals or breathing the fumes when processing film or making prints ... but I do miss the feel of an old fashioned camera with the larger formats ... but even that is changing.

Good luck with what you shoot and do Mate. I think your images are very fine. Being a Sydney photographer, you are following on from some of the Greats, like Harold Cazneaux and David Moore, ... I can see the heritage.

The image has that old early photo reportage look. Like in those early shots of smoke filled Parisian nightclubs ... showing captures of strangers.

Lizette Model is the photographer who's work this is similar to. The moment I took the shot, i could see Model's Parisian influence.
