Description A nurgle sorcerer I painted up for a competition I tried to enter. Yet to find out how I did, but I don' expect to win anything. Don't know how many hours it took, lost track.

Made a nice change from my Sanguinary Guard models, going back to true metallic metals.

Painted using GW paints and revel brushes.

What do you think?

I didn't realise the picture was that dark. I thought they were okay. :S

I am not sure if the darkness if because of the lack of light or the dark paint

I think it was quite a dark paint scheme, and I did try and make the lighting good, I tried mild editing to light it slightly as well. But I wanted the colours to represent what they actually are, not the lighter colours turning up the brightness would do.

Quite good, but the colors are still a bit thick to be ΓΌber.

Yeah, I'm currently really trying to improve my blending. It isn't really thick layers thats the main problem, but instead the heavy handed highlighted that the lack of blending leads to.

Cheers for the comment, I'll be trying to improve on that!

The thing is that to make fine scaling you need fine brushes.
But for the really fine blending youΒ΄d need really fine brushes. Stupid thing about those is, that they are drying out pretty quickly.
Yeah, I am painting 40k stuff myself.

And my Runepriest HQ squad is lost in the Warp

Yeah, I currently paint using a revel size 1 brush for pretty much everything, from fine detail to large areas. I also have a GW fine detail brush which I need to start getting back into the habit of picking up when I need to paint the finest highlights.

The next model I paint up which is the banner bearer from my Sanguinary Guard should show how much better at blending I am than I managed here.

Ooh Space Wolves, nice!

Hm, you should also get some smaller brushes.

And no, I meant the Eldars. And somehow the box vanished.
Well thatΒ΄s the Warp.....

I think I really need to get better quality brushes rather than smaller. The size 1 brush is probably one of the most useful, as long as it has a sharp point it can paint pretty much everything. Just need to get one with a proper sharp point...
