Description
Since my commissions have been completed, I wanted to render something fun before I dive into one of my concepts. And I asked friends which character I should bring out, one that hasn't been seen for a while. Someone asked me to render a redhead, and it just so happens that I currently know one So, here's Sonya with some clothing I bought with part of my commission payment

I sort of struggled with the skin textures. The first set I picked out, loaded up some HumanSurface, and after the first test render I noticed that the lip texture bled out onto the face texture. That is fine as long as you keep the color and specularity settings consistent, but I never do that with lips, so it got the heave-ho. I loaded up a second set, applied my own settings in the default shader, but the skin was a bit too orange.

I loaded a third set, re-applied HumanSurface, and was disappointed that I had none of the neat rim light effect I get with my default settings in the generic shader. Then a light bulb lit up when I thought about the velvet parameters. In the manual, it's supposed to simulate tiny hairs or "peach fuzz", but since this shader is really close to UberSurface2, something "clicked". It's more muted here, but I have rim lighting now, along with subsurface scattering and translucency!
