Description Taken in Iran................... Nah, not really - just getting back in touch with my minimalist roots .

A friend and I went out on a photoshoot to Adelaide's outer suburbs and came across this paddock with some ruined buildings. Not long after I took this shot we were actually both caught trespassing. It was weird because he seemed to appear from nowhere, out of the rubble of buildings. It was even stranger because he suddenly appeared when we started taking shots of this old giant well that was in the ground, covered by an old rusted roof. Maybe there were BONES down there

Amazing texture. If you turned it 90 degrees counter clockwise it could almost be a painting of a field of grasses and flowers.

Great texture. Are those bullet holes?

I suspect so, yes. It looked like someone fired a shotgun into a wall and there wasn't any evidence to suggest that those holes had any purpose.

Great shot Will,
It's quite a thing, being ble to isolate
a subject as complex and without
visual anchors as this and make it work. The strong left
side acts as a powerful lead into the detail in the plane, and a
compostional jetty to keep jumping off. THis is an interesting
way to approach composition....

Why thank you Tom I actually flipped the image 90 degrees CW because the portrait view just looked better aesthetically

awesome work The textures are great and the yellowy/orange colour of it too. The black border compliments it perfectly. To me, this really looks like a satellite photo of the middle-east or somewhere like that

Thanks. Those holes probably are actually from bullets, just some guy testing out a shotgun or something... I wouldn't be surprised

Looks wicked after editing billy, your eye for minimalism is far superior to mine. God use of vignetting here, and i really like how the shot seems to go from a light to dark transition from left to right, yet the destruction (the bullet holes) become more frequent.
Es maravilloso. Me gusta.

Cheers Sam. I don't know what the patterns/stains are on the left but they make this shot look more like a painting. Great location you found !

Thanks much, i believe its paint on the wall. It definitely does look like a war zone though. We should crash some more degraded buildings soon.

Most definately. They aren't that easy to come by though, and when you do it usually involves trespassing.

really cool shot, I like the texture and also the atmosphere it creates, kinda dark and mysterious.

Yeah, he seemed pretty aggravated. But we didn't really care because he was old and we could run faster.

He started asking us what our names were, what we were doing (which was pretty obvious because all we had were cameras). Then he stated that a lot of stuff 'gets stolen around here' to give reason to his paranoid-ness. Oh well, moments like that do give you a thrill

hehehe reminds me of my shot of the rail crossing..... I took it with my Friend Tim ~Vumnoo while staying at his place in Melbourne..
A guy drove past and watend to get into the laneway that Tim's car was in.. then he startred asking us if we were "adding or removing" ( the graffiti) so I was standing there with 2 camera's on tripods while Tim moved his car trying to explain that all we were doing was taking photos!
Some people just dont understand *sigh*
