Description Inspired by sammyd91.deviantart.com/art/Ca… by And don't worry I let him know before I started this.

This is my very first drawing of Tillie from "The Little Engine That Could" and my first drawing ever of Casey Junior, and boy was this not only hard but complicated! But it was worth the effort. I started this a couple to a couple and a half hours ago. I started with Tillie and then drew Casey, whom I think was harder. These are my outside sources other than sammyd91's picture:

- Tillie vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/l…

 - Casey vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/d… (Note, I had to copy and paste this picture onto Paint and then enlarge it to make it easier for myself to copy from.

I don't think I ever planned to draw Tillie, until I saw sammyd91's picture, but I have been meaning to draw Casey for quite some time now, and it looks like I finally did. But I've been wanting to draw him since seeing these pictures on DA:

But now I see that drawing Casey, Tillie too, is challenging! Well, nothing comes easy! I don't think I plan to draw Tillie again but I do plan to give Casey Jr. another go and add some cars to him, using and pictures (I already have their permissions, I just haven't gotten around to making my art modeled after their pictures and it's been about two years or less now!)

Like what Sammy did, I drew Tillie and Casey but just their locomotive parts, I didn't even draw their coal tenders. I also left the birds out.

In addition, I added a railroad crossing, that was my intent for this picture. I did start to make the tracks incline-like but I didn't feel it was going to work so I just made them to lay flat on the ground. Well, maybe I did incline them, just not as steeply.

My crossing has two 12x20 signals, which will be L.E.D., one signal has a General Signals electronic bell and a modern gate with R.E.C.O. 4" lights. The other signal, the one closest to us has a wooden wishbone gate with 7" lights and a Western Cullen Hayes electronic bell! Imagine that, a W.C.H. electronic bell and a wishbone crossing gate together! I haven't decided if the gate lights were incandescent or L.E.D., even the 7" lights. This crossing is sort of modeled after a crossing I dreamed about seven years ago and it's a real live crossing that did used to have wishbone gates.

This picture is not to show up sammyd91's picture. I would have added more things like bystanders, trees and perhaps bushes, well, I might still do that, and waiting cars (I probably don't have enough room for that)

I will try to have the colored version of this drawing later on but I don't know when. So until then, please enjoy this one. And if you want you can print this out and color it yourself. And since I didn't mark the crossbucks or gates, you can make them any kind and color you want.

Wow! You did a really good job on Tillie! Its like this was paint-brushed, almost like water was used though digitally done.

And in different shades of blue! I forgot what its called or how its described and I learned this in art class, but basically the color progressively gets lighter or darker instead of just using one shade of blue and then a darker/lighter shade of blue.

I also like the yellow and how you worked that in into the thin parts.

Great job so far.

That's Arnold Munk, right? because that's who I gave the credit to. I checked the site you gave me and I looked on Wikipedia and on www.penguinrandomhouse.com/aut… to back up the facts.

I also let SammyD9 know because I copied and pasted from his page.

I did do something wrong, I went and told him before doing more thorough research and it's important to back up what you say with facts before telling others and I failed to do that.    I acted stupidly, I made an unwise move.

Thanks! I'm really glad you like it. And I just posted the colored version (which you're probably already seeing.) And thanks for being okay with me using your picture to make mine.

I have an idea. Have a Challenger as Casey Jr's mom and them beside each other!

That's a good idea. I'm not good with making challengers but that would be nice. I do like those super large steam locomotives, their great for going up hills and pulling long trains!

The locomotive I'm sadly not into is UP3985 Sorry.
