i saw post his and so... i thought i'd post mine too.last week a few of us did a draw yourself as an x-men character draw off. i came up with this guy named sketch who has the power to manifest in to reality anything that he draws... his major downfall though is that the he is a horrible artist and loves to draw ninja's. >.>

Not to burst your bubble, but some X-Men writer, I think Claremont, already came up with this power. Granted, the character drew extremely well and detailed and didn't just draw ninjas all the time. I love the illustration though Beamer, you're extremely skilled and talented. Great work!

damn you claremont!!! oh well. not that it's a big deal. like i've said before, this was just for fun. ^_^ and more so than try to be original, it was just to come up with something that i thought would be cool as a power.

It was right around when the first X-Men movie came out to theaters. Marvel decided to completely revamp the teams and put new costumes on them (keep in mind this is all prior to the Grant Morrison revamp that utilized the "movie" costume ideas). One of the covers stands out in my head immediately though, it has the X-Men chained up and on stage, they are for auction as slaves. Cable is the predominant figure on the cover. Let me see if I can digg through my boxes of comics to find those issues to get you the issues numbers.

Bah, I can never think of half original powers. Mine's just basically got your Wolverine story. I mean, technically, having those powers would be my fantasy. I get sick alot and I have awful back problems. Having them FIXABLE... that's kindof an ultimate fantasy for me.
Kinda sad, huh?
Oh well. What she lacks in power originality, she makes up for in insanity. Heh heh heh... BWAHAHAHAHAHAH- *coughchoke*

i think that's probably the hardest part of creating a superhero. creating a character with cool or believable powers and a decent personality... that and someone who fits in with the rest of the team/continuity.
course, this thing was just for fun. i have no intentions of using this guy for anything.

I'd be afraid to have his super power, seeing as I like to doodly creepy little things when I get bored. Some of them are pretty deformed. "TRANSFORM TO...DEFORMED TOASTER/SQUIRREL! *PWIFFA* ..WTF?" xD

not in an x men title *don't really read them all that much any more* but it's typical that an artist type like your self or my self would create a character that can bring his drawings to life. it's all i'm saying.

Oh man... it's the badly drawn ninjas that kill me, and how matter-of-factly you said it in the description. Well, I guess you don't need to be a great artist to draw hordes of kick-tail ninjas. What an awesome power and what an even more awesome restriction on it.
This just made my whole morning. I coughed up my coffee right next to the laptop when I saw this sketch.

I think you've had the idea everyone has every now and then, the power to make drawing real. But I'm not a big X-men fan, I'm more of a Green Lantern guy myself, but you look good!

This is usually the most surprising and powerful ability in a story...

thanks, man! i love characters that are in some way flawed in their abilities. a character who has some ultra power but can't use it or doesn't know how or has some silly weakness just makes the guy all the more interesting.

These types of characters usually have the ability to turn a battlefield around... And some comical potential... Should be very flexiable to use in a story... XD

hahah......Well...my X-man version of myself is called Mockery. He can mimic powers, skills, and materials. He hasta touch people to mimic stuff and can only mimic so much stuff at a time.
(its based off of an old table top abberant character i played. He could mimic up to 2 powers or skills at once with no problems....any more than that was really trying on him. He could only mimic one type of material at a time (like metal, or water), no exceptions on that.)
kinda boring compared to Sketch though....
