Ramin again right? I think he's the best phantom myself...and since you've drawn several pictures of him, and based on the shape of the mask...am I right again?

I shall answer your question with my story Right before the concert ended we found out that the meet and greet thing had been only for the people who had paid insane amounts of money to go and see him while we could only afford the $30 tickets considering one, we are not exactly a high income family, and two, there were three of us. Well, getting to go to the concert had been my birthday present and one late-night excursion for the school-year (I'm still a student, lol, Javert ) I had drawn that shilouette of him just for the concert and bought a shirt and was really hoping to get him to sign it. Until they said that the meet and greet was earlier that evening. Yeah, one of those, so close yet so far moments. Well, rather depressed, but still clinging to a scrap of hope that we might catch him before he left, me and my aunt were running around The Center Stage (which is a very nice little venue if you ever come to Atlanta ) like total maniacs trying to find him. After about ten minutes we gave up and were about to leave when I happened to glance back into the theater and I just about had a heart attack. So, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible (I was a little person in the middle of a crowd of friggin giants wasn't that hard ) I start smacking the crap out of my aunt's arm saying, "Michelle, Michelle he's right there!!!!! " So being the total idiots we are we sprinted down there and just about ran smack into the biggest dang security guard you have ever seen in your life. And he's like, "He has to go now ladies, he's busy right now." So we try to get him to just hand the picture to Ramin and let him keep it as a birthday present (we ALMOST share a birthday! ) and we were just going to go on home. So I'm writing as fast as I can on the back thanking him for the amazing concert and coming to Atlanta and whatnot, when the security guy looks around and says, "Well, you can try but I don't know if he'll see you." I swear I jumped over those last three rows of seats but then we got to the stage and had a serious problem. As I previously stated, my aunt and I are very little people, the stage was almost as tall as I was! I had to stand on my toes to put my chin on top of it and he had gone just off stage behind a stack of amps so we could see him, but he couldn't see us. So we stand there trying not to draw too much attention to ourselves so we wouldn't end up arrested we started hitting the stage just a little bit to try to get his attention and my aunt is going "Ramin! Ramin!" and I thought, 'I can't call him that! One he's older than me by like fifteen years and two, he's freakin Ramin Karimloo!' so I start going, "Mister Karimloo! Mister Karimloo!" And he starts looking around like, 'Where the heck is that coming from?' and he finally looks down and sees us. So he walks over and says, "Good evening ladies, if somebody sees us we're all going to get in so much trouble," and we nod like total morons and I stretch up and hand him my drawing and say "I-I drew t-this for the c-concert tonight and I was wondering i-if you could s-sign it for me," he looks down at it and raises his eyebrows, "You did this for my concert?" I nod again, "Y-yes sir," he grins and sits down on the stage and says, "Then of course I'll sign it!" and he does and my shirt which he says he can NEVER sign good so he made it all fancy for me and said, "You'll know it's me," and laughs. Then my aunt hands him the picture she bought of him and asks him to sign it (it was already signed, mind you ) and he says, "I signed all of these on the way here! (a grand total of 1500 pictures) I broke my hand on these for you!" we all laugh and he asks who to make it out to, she says Michelle and he does. Then right before he has to go I ask him for a picture and he layed out flat on his stomach on the stage just so I could get a picture with him. He told us goodnight and blessings in pure Ramin style, and continued right on with what he had been doing, still grinning ear to ear as he had been the moment he saw our heads just barely poking over the top of the stage. He is truly an amazing person (as we told him about fifteen hundred times in our roughly five minute conversation ), and I'm sure he'll come up to wherever you are sometime I think he's in Chicago tonight.

I don't even bother spelling it "Fantastic" anymore half the time I'm a bit of a loner down here but everybody's gotten used to that chick who dresses like an English punk but then has a little silver mask hanging off her neck But I've always got and dA And on the subject of Webber's version of the Phantom, I couldn't agree more. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea and how far the story has progressed in the past hundred years, but after my intial obsession I found that the music and his version of the story were very... Simple and repetitive. In the true story Erik is a mastermind, making everything much more involved and complex than neccesary just for his own amusements. He's a very dark character but also is capable of unbridled passion and suprising tenderness. Webber doesn't really portray that side of him, he turns it into a much more sexual obsession, where in the true story he would hardly touch her even after they were married for that short period of time. Erik, in his own way, was still a gentleman. (which is one reason I absolutely HATE Love Never Dies, because that would never happen) The desire and seduction was still there, but much more subtle which actually makes him more desirable as a character in my mind. It mixes with the darkness and makes that feel of danger. (I'm also a writer, you can see I get a little involved and am very obsessed with symbolism ) But I think you should write it down, I'd love to see what you think as well

I'm a writer too, and agree with EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID!!! I LOVE the Phantom of the Opera story, and while I love the musical, I can say with certainty (though I own and love the 25th anniversary performance and Ramin will always be my phantom) that Erik (while I think he would be pleased with Ramin's voice and acting) would be shocked and HORRIFIED with what Webber did to him. I can't stand LND either, for that reason. When I told mom about the plot line this is the face I got: O.o????? And I said "Don't try to understand it, mom, it's Andrew Lloyd Webber!" And she just nodded.
Aw. And you have me now. Have you ever tried doing Phantom Makeup? It's a lot of fun. With Halloween coming up (lots of stores have some stuff out already) you can find WAY more makeup supplies than you can at other times of the year, unless you look hard. I know I'm saving up and stocking up on all kinds of things. Wigs, Cloaks/capes, gloves, makeup, false teeth, fake weapons...we don't celebrate Halloween at my house, but it's one of my favorite seasons, I mean come on, when else are you going to find a gallon of fake blood in Wal-Mart?? (and now I sound like a freak...but hey, freaks are cool!)
I have a whole "inspired by ________" thing going with my closet. I've taking some pictures and will post them here sometime. that way I can wear something that's for the character without looking really odd... My "Phantom" look is still quite professional/dressy and constrained looking. I do wire wrapping and beading and such, and fully intend to do some kind of mask (or mask like) piece of jewelry in the near future. I also intend to use moonstone for the decorations, since they're white, and...well...Erik does love night best, so moonstone just fits. (at least I think it does)
So yeah...I write my own songs for him. He's a genius! I understand that in the Webber version Erik writes "Don Juan" as kinda an insult, and that's why it's so disjunked and...well...ugly... (apart from "Past the point of no return" which is one of my favorites from the musical) but Erik would NEVER write something like that, even as torment for the managers and cast... it would drive him crazy! And having "Don Juan Triumphant" be his requiem is just that much sadder. In red ink...as if it could have been his own blood...was it? Do monster's bleed? Yes. (sorry, I was feeling really dramatic there for a second...and a little "in character" too I think. ) I've been called a musical prodigy...so I can connect with Erik there. In a funny way it's sometimes a curse... I don't have to practice (so I often don't) I can get by on talent. Seriously, I like never practice, and I'm still the best one at the recitals/performances. I'm not trying to brag! (please don't take it that way!) I just am... I write music. I sing all the time, and I have been compared to an angel in my voice and music before...multiple times... gosh I had a big head for a while... Erik has kinda encouraged me to practice. By reading about/watching him I realized how much I could do...if I took the time to practice. For a while now I've been wondering if I'd lost the music inside me. I had no desire to practice, I couldn't write music like I wanted to, even my voice seemed...un-musical to me...then I discovered Phantom (I'd known all about it before, but only really discovered it for myself recently)...and the music returned. I can play like I've never played before, sing like I've never sung before, and I WANT to practice. I want to pour my soul into every piece I play.
Sorry if that was long, I was feeling really excited and passionate, and I wanted to tell someone who would understand why I love POTO/Erik especially so much. Every time I watch/read it I think- "If I were Christine, I'd sing my voice raw just so he would keep teaching me how to make music sound like music." I've been looking for so long to find the "soul" in music, which is what Erik talks about and wants and sees in Christine. It's like finding it was opening a whole new world...
Again, sorry if that was long.

You are my new best friend I am just like you, I had to force myself to practice my band instruments, (even though I drive my mother crazy seeing as how every surface in the house is now a drumset ) but I taught myself piano in less than a year and can now play better than a girl in chorus who's been playing since she was four, I'm working on my string instruments and my woodwinds and am constantly running around with my headphones in singing something or another. My mind is hyperactive, I can speak French, German, Spanish, specks of Russian, Italian, and Swahili, and I'm not even fourteen yet. I'm always writing music or playing out a scenario in my head. I'm a voice actress as well as a stage actress, I can figure out something that takes someone else thirty minutes in about two, I CHOSE to be like this, there is so much to learn, see, and do in this life, why wait until I'm older? We are never promised tomorrow. Most of my family is convinced if I keep this up and don't do something "stable" I'll never make anything of myself so I shouldn't take the chance, but if I had that mindset, I never would. Put everything you have into what you do and something will happen. (that was my inspiring speech for the day I tend to rant... Like a lot... sorry )
But back on topic, I absolutely agree. Erik would be horrified (but Ramin is still a boss and did the best he could with what he had, it really seems like he understands who he's supposed to be playing) at what Webber has turned him into. He made him so predictable, which takes away from that intended sense of fear and horror. And Don Juan was an absolute *Madame Giry voice* DISGRACE! (lol, Madame Giry is hilarious in her own very serious way ) Honestly, what was that? Even though he loathes Andre and Firmin with every scrap of his being, THAT would never happen either. Now Past the Point of No Return is by far one of my favorite pieces, but the beginning is absolutely hideous.
And to the costumes, no I haven't. I didn't really plan well enough to have time to get involved with my costume. But this year will be much better seeing as how I already have the basic costume (I love costumes... So much ) minus the cloak needing some MAJOR redo-ing

I am a die-hard Mizzie (and by that I mean on the barricades of freedom of course) I'm reading the brick too. Lol, a lot of people seem to love both Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera...they're not similar at all really...maybe it's Ramin!
I wonder if I could find that again...someone said it's like Victor Hugo thought: "This is a book on my personal opinions. Oh wait, no it's a history book. You probably wanted the story by now, ok. I will now give more history for several chapters just 'cause. Oh, the story right. Here are my personal opinions...oh right, story, story. More history! Right, on with the story..." and so on and so forth. I completely agree actually, however the waterloo sequence was EXTREMELY interesting. Partly just because I never EVER thought I'd hear a Frenchman say "The English fought admirably", even if they did, most French would just skip it.
I use to hate the French, because I'm so very English you know. Why does England hate France? Well...uh...we just do...uh... lol it has something to do with claims on the land since the 1000AD's...but most people don't seem to know that. Now though, I love the French. Well...the Les Mis and Phantom French...I could live without those completely and totally annoying French frigate captions from the Horatio Hornblower or Master and Commander series of films (which I can't recommend...ENOUGH! The books are great too!)
Ok, talking a lot again...me be quite now.
Did I understand right that you're 13 years old??? Because if so you are insanely talented and advanced for your age! And you're already Awesome no matter what your age.

Oh yes I think it's Ramin Even though I cannot STAND the 25th concert! Ramin, Hadley, and Alfie were absolutely amazing but I can't make myself care for Norm Lewis, (strange... He plays Javert, I love Javert ) I really just don't like the way he played him. Dunno, just me And yes, Hugo does tend to ramble... For about 1000 pages and then the other 500 are the entire story But I had to read that sentence about thirty times to wrap my thick head around that those words had come from a FRENCHMAN Once again, the most contradictive person on the planet, I am a total die-hard Angliophile as well as a Francophile. Don't ask me to explain, because I have absolutely no idea
Meh, I've found somebody that will rant back to me Usually people just kind of suffer through it and nod at the end I am a very unusual person But I like having someone who actually responds to what I'm saying, it's nice I don't have any Phantom Phriends down here
And yes, I'm 13, turning 14 on September 22. (don't mind the age on my profile, I made this account a while ago and it told me I was too young to join whether that would still be in effect, I don't know )
And thanks so much for the Llama!!

Lol. You're quite welcome for the llama. You don't have anywhere near as many as you deserve my dear.
I'm gonna be in the Boundry waters on your birthday, so why not just say it now!
I don't have any PHriends either...I've got lots of friends...just not many PHriends.
Yeah, a Frenchman liking the English? Crazy huh?
Btw, sorry for sending that message thing twice if that happened, I didn't see it and I thought my computer was acting stupid and didn't send it, so I typed part of it out again...sorry for the repetitiveness!
I LOVE the 25th concert!!!! Alfie is my favorite Valjean (as if JVJ didn't remind me enough of Daddy already Alfie even kinda looks like my dad...) Ramin is always perfection and he played SUCH a good Enjolras. And Hadley's Grantaire is the most drunk Grantaire I've ever seen. And I LOVE his little "Aayyow!" at the end of his lines in Red and Black. THAT was perfect. I liked Norm Lewis well enough, but he ain't no Quast! His "Stars" I was pleased with though. His "Javert's Suicide" (<--needs better title) I was not too happy with...it wasn't as good as it could have been. I do like Norm's voice though. And him being black was actually like perfect for Javert since Javert's gypsy...he wouldn't have been black, but he wouldn't have been pale. It just adds a nice touch I though. I ADORE Sam!!! She was PERFECT FOR EPONINE!!! Katie Hall was amazing too. Kinda annoying...but that's just the part. She hits those high-notes just so pretty. Also (you're gonna hate me...) I REALLY like Nick's Marius. I just think the way he played him was just Marius-like. He wasn't strong like Michael (who I think was too strong for Marius, I adore his voice, but it's too strong for Marius...) I just thought Nick just got it. I think it was good casting. This opinion is unpopular I know, but I thought he did great. His phrase ending was annoying pop-ish, and he can act...but for some reason wasn't... but over all I think he did well (and yeah...he needs to learn how to hit high notes without screwing up his face like that...)
Lol. An England and France lover? How? I'm growing into one...a bit...but England is my first love (ok Ireland is my first, England is my second, Russia is my third, and Scotland is my fourth...) but I am love France now too. It's on the list. (just don't tell Hornblower!)
I LOVE ranting with you! I have no one to rant to at home! This is so much fun!!! I'm so glad you don't mind MY ranting!

I love Hadley, Ramin, Alfie, and Sam (and I cannot believe I left her off ) I just... Didn't really like it for some reason... The 10th will always be my favorite, I LOVE the way Colm Wilkinson and Philip Quast worked together, the orchestra was absolutely phenomenal (what has my director turned me into? ) and I absolutely fell in love with Michael as Marius (not a very big Marius fan, he's another character that just gets on my nerves for some reason) and the OTHER Michael as Enjolras (imagine those rehearsals "MICHAEL!" *both turn around* "NO NOT YOU, THE OTHER MICHAEL!" *both turn back around* There's like four Erins in my class, this is my everyday reality ) And Alun Love him Although my first choice will always be the Original French recording with Maurice Barrier, Jean Vallee, Rose Laurens, Marianne Mille, Yvan Dautin, Marie-France Roussel, Gilles Buhlmann, Fabienne Guyon, Christian Ratellin, and Florence Davis. They're absolutely fantastic
And yes, England and France both share equal portions of my heart Don't ask me how or why, but that's how it is And Ireland will also always be very special to me considering Erin Go Bragh
And we are Phriends de le Fantome, non? I don't have anyone either I tend to be a bit too stubborn (thank you mother ) for most people's taste
