Since I don't have to scan these, I'm hoping posting photographs of masks appear accurate on this laptop monitor. Ugh I can't wait until I have a working computer again!That aside, this was a commission from someone who wanted a realistic barn owl mask. I'm hoping to make many more of these :3 This was definitely a fun mask to make! I based this off of several photos I took of Silo, a resident barn owl at Horizon Wings . Their faces just lend themselves very well to mask shape!
This is hand-carved and shaped 7-oz leather and painted with acrylics.
This specific mask has already been bought, but if you're interested in your own barn (or other) owl mask, let me know!

Ohh this came out lovely, Brenda! They have such interesting subtle colors in their markings. And you're right! They make perfect mask shapes. I'd love to see more owls! (Snowy owl plz?)
