Description This mask is the result of some more beak experimentation. Similar to the Blue Falcon mask, I created a separate beak out of leather and shaped the mask around it. It fits very well and gives the impression of a 3-dimensional raptor beak.

8-oz leather (except for the beak, it's a bit lighter for ease of shaping), painted with acrylics. The area around the eyes and feathers are metallic gold.

This one is extremely superb. Almost indefinately. Can I have wings with that?

Ahah I didn't realize who you were until I went to your DA page and saw your name. I'm not quite sure how I would make this one with wings! Perhaps something like the wings found on an Egyptian headdress? [link]

All your masks are so beautiful! They must be hard to make. If I had the money I would buy this in a heartbeat. But sadly I don't.

So cute! I love the way the feather have a color gradient from gold to blue. The layered beak is a good idea! It really adds dimension to the 'hooded' nature of the falcon beak.

I like making these hooked beaks. They're kind of difficult to construct, though, since you have to curve and thin the leather in order to make it work.

I was trying to work out in my head how I'd do that. Are you making split tabs from the top of the beak that are then glued behind the rest? Or is the beak simply molded and made to fit without any tabs? Eventually I'd like to do some raven beaked things so I'm curious about how you're doing this

I really love the blue feathers at the top--they really make the piece pop.
