Great horned owls are strong enough to be a very real threat to bald eagles. Their feet are more powerful, and can crush with greater strength than an eagle's. Also bald eagles tend to be less aggressive than great horned owls, and prefer to fly off rather than fight them.

Beautiful job! How long did it take you? May I ask what type of acrylics that you use? Where do you get your feathers? Do you sell them as commissions or anything?

Thanks! These feathers take me varying amounts of time. I use mostly Liquitex and Golden acrylics, and I get my feathers either from turkey hunters, or from naturally molted farm birds. This particular painting is from a hunted bird. And I do take feather painting commissions.
