Description
I walked on the moonlit path,
Pondering on things of the past.
I found myself alone,
On the moonlit path.

The full moon high up in the sky,
Casting a shadow of myself,
That follows me around.
The shadow is silent, as always,
But it’s my only companion,
In this deserted path.

A silent shadow.

I walked on, with the shadow in front of me,
Or perhaps,
I’m following the shadow, I cannot tell.
The path seems endless, empty and cold.
But,
There are voices, happy voices along the path.
Glass tinkling joyfully, Fire crackles merrily
I can feel the warmth.
I can smell the delicious food
I longed to leave the path, the shadow.
Yet,
I walked on,
For my desire to see the end of the path,
Is greater than my longing for the things,
Beyond my reach.

I walked on, with the shadow in front of me.
The moon high above me, guiding me
To see the end of the path.
The wind blows behind me, urging me,
To reach the end of the path.

Finally,
I reached the end,
I found myself in a deserted street,
Empty, except for the street lights and,
The neighbor’s dogs barked at me.
The shadow disappeared.
Is it a dream?
Or is it reality?
I cannot tell…..

I walked towards the familiar light,
Yet, the light is cold, without warmth.
I sigh, and open the cold, steel door……
