Description
Till sat quietly on the sofa and thought again everything that had happened to him last several months. Last Spring he had found out he felt sick almost every morning. A month later he had noticed his belly had grown eventhough he had been on a diet. Two days later he heard the news from his doctor; he was pregnant.
He sighed deeply. He remembered how great shock it was to him and later to his bandmembers. He was having a baby and it was growing inside him. And he was a MAN for Christ's sake!!! It shouldn't had been possible!
Days went by and Till's stomach grew bigger and bigger. Now it was so huge he could barely walk anywhere. Only what he was able to do was just sitting and watching tv. Urgh! It was so boring!
He rubbed his round belly.
"This baby might be over four kilos heavy," he tought. "Just like its mother was."
At least Till's own mother told him she tought she was giving birth to a baby elephant when he was born. Till grinned a little for the thought. Baby elephant, yeah right...
"How's the coming-mutter?"
Till scared the sudden voice. He looked up and saw Flake smiling in front of him. When the hell did he come there?
"Oh, fine fine... just thinking stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" Flake asked and sat next to Till who sighed and answered:
"This whole baby thing. No matter how much I try to think of it, I just can't understand. It's so confusing."
Flake nodded, but Till hadn't finnished yet.
"How I'm gonna raise it? How do I explain I'm its mother and father (at least I think I am its father too)? How do I explain this to everybody else, especially to my mutti?"
He made a short pause and then he cried loudly:
"How I'm gonna birth it anyway?! I don't have a vagina! I don't even know how it even got inside me nor how it's growing there! This whole thing is too surreal! Time'll be up soon and I dunno what to do!"
He burried his face with his hands and breathed heavily. Why? Why this had to happen to him?
Flake stared a while at Till and then his belly. It looked so round and beautiful. He slided down from the sofa next to Till's legs. He put first his hand on the belly, then his head. He closed his eyes and listened carefully.
The baby was moving slowly. Maybe it felt Flake's body's warmth and tried to came close to it. Flake wished he could have heard it's heartbeat but he only heard Till's. Never realised how it sounded like a soft bassdrum...
Till looked this happening open-mouthed. Nobody had done this before. Some had spoken to his tummy, few had even touched it, but nobody had tried to listened the kid like Flake was doing now. It was kinda weird, but it didn't bother Till at all. He was actually quite touched. At least somebody tried to make a contact with the baby.
"I think it groals," Flake giggled. "Sounds like you before dinner."
"Definitely my child then," Till said and started to smooth Flake's hair with divided attention. Flake himself didn't seem to noticed it.
"Does it move much?"
"Sometimes, but when it does feels like I'm having a tornado inside me. I couldn't sleep few nights because of it."
"It just proves it's alive," Flake grinned.
"Less proves would enough for me," Till answered and sighed again. Never realised how hard it was to be a coming-mother...
"It'll be a wonderful kid Till, trust me," Flake said. "We will all help you to raise it. You're not alone, and you'll never will be."
Till smiled a little. "I know. I know I can count on you."
"It'll be a lucky kid. Six dad's who are taking care of it."
"Good lord, NO! I think it's better if you're just uncles for it! Six dad sounds too grose!" Till laughed.
Flake laughed too and continued on smoothing the belly. Then he turned his head and whispered to it:
"I'll teach you to play piano."
"No way in hell! Then it'll become just like you!" Till laughed and pat playfully Flake's head. Silly guy as the keyboardist was he made Till felt relaxed for months. His problems didn't seem to be so big as they used to be.
Flake closed his eyes and listened the tummy again.
"Just few more weeks, right?" he asked.
Till took a deep breath and looked at the wall in front of him.
"Yes. Just few more weeks..."
