Dedicated to all the mothers who've lost their children to the war...I must confess, the original concept is not mine. It belongs to my classmate, who came up with it for an art class assignment many years ago, but for some reason never managed to put it down on paper. She described it to me in detail though, and the idea stuck with me through the years. I never imagined I'd be the one to bring it to life, but nevertheless I just had to do it.
The original assignment required us to do the picture in ink and combine a person and a tree in any way we could think of. Here's my original version: [link] .
I've decided to forfeit the ink here and do the entire picture with colored pencils. Unfortunately the coloring was rushed, because I had a very limited time to finish this picture.

Thanks! I wanted to do this picture for a long time, but I always had some other things to do. So I kept this idea as a back-up plan, when I have some time and nothing else to do. This time I had only a couple of weeks, so I had to rush it, but I think it turned out OK.
