So true, sometimes it's a chore, almost, especially when things pile up. Yet I love the DA community, and the art I've been exposed to. The folk I've met. I have to come up with a regular system of some sort.

This has a history of sorts: it's of my ex-wife when she was in her mid twenties, and I painted it about a year after she left, in our mid forties. Got me through the winter, and eventually I gave it to her, but she found it so oppressive that she traded for a painting I'd done of a niece. So its back, and I'm comfortable with it.

this painting just captured me.it doesn't just tell me a story.it shows me a world apart from what i know.I also like the composition,it is unlike a normal composition,it does not follow the rules,it shows that u understood the rules and broke [link] blue colour of her t-shirt is what also gives life to the painting.it doesn't have dull [link] great. this is what i call art. congrats.

Thank you so much, and I hope to. Depending on my success photographing those paintings that are within my range. I so love this, a community of caring people, making diverse (and in many cases, new) art. It makes my head swim, all the beauty, all the thought. After a lengthy doldrums, I'm actually making marks again: and all because of this community. I cannot in any measure express my delight, my fear, my sweat, my love.

I am glad that you love dA. I have been here less than a year. I first submitted my wood works (painting / decoupage) then I loved the photomanipulations very much and tried to make some. Friendship is very encouraging here that I wouldn't keep making if my friends didn't support me.
It is so good to know that people/artists all around the world are not different from each other, we are all same with our good and bad sides. dA is a good way to experience "This world is so small".
Still the most important side of dA for me is to watch, enjoy the works of others. It is a way to learn about life for me. I feel great joy in visual arts and that is why I am here.
I hope and wish that dA gives you courage and inspiration for beautiful works.

I've done perhaps two dozen paintings, all gone, and have perhaps a half dozen staring at me through thick layers of dust, in various stages of completion. Until I discovered DA I felt pretty isolated, and my juices are just starting to stir again. I'm hoping, maybe. T'would be great.

DA can most definitely provide a breeding ground for inspiration, I went through a 5 year block that almost devoured my love for it. Looking back now I can give partial credit to this site for help triggering my passion. But, as usual its the life struggles and experiences that form the art almost by itself, from that I may have enough sketches to last a lifetime.
Looking forward to what you unveil, I'll keep a look out

I agree, brother, I agree: art comes from inside or from that asshole demon who sits on your left shoulder and makes you different. The thing that I see about this community is that we all respect that difference. We are, in a way, a community of outsiders. And while I love what the experience does for me, drowning me in a sea of art and artists, this really is a sea of humanity, young and old, experienced and inexperienced, all willing and wanting to share. Some good.
