Sierra, I love your brilliance. You nailed me with the waft of a joint, the burn of the dragon, but you failed to include my most tigerish friend, liquid, curling, smoky alcohol in it's many succulent forms. I'm still alive, still stomping about. Last fall I had a setback when two people I love mightily died, one after the other. First my (ex)wife, who is still present in my dreams and memories like a slash to my arm, an ache I can't stop, a voice I can't hear. Then two months later her best friend and soul-mate, the girl who hitched across Canada with her to change my life. You get to my age, a lot more of the flowers that make the landscape beautiful go away. So you have to plant more, if you can.
Thank you for remembering me. Keep your heart strong, your mind straight. Chase your art with all you have.

Good news !! I knew you were alive somewhere. I'd have felt it if you passed out of this world.
I'm very sorry to hear of your great loss. It must have made your winter so much harder to bear. I've experienced this feeling too -- I hate it. I'm sad for you yet I'm glad you are dreaming and remembering. The only thing worse than the sting of death is the slow decay of memory of the ones you loved greatly.
Flowers is a wonderful word picture. I love so many things about them. Their beauty, their scent like that of a rose is one you never forget and each time you encounter it you're immediately transported in time/place to where your most pleasant memories of them reside. They never leave us permanently they just wait for us to discover them again. Sometimes they appear in new growth that has a similar look and smell but dare not try to replace the original. They're happy being related yet unique in their own way. Springtime always brings the renewed promise of life's beauty and hope.
I had to choose to leave something out of my message and it came down to women or smoky alcohol in warm friendly pubs on cold nights. Usually pubs and alcohol are easier to find and engage than women - but not always - anyway I chose women. But I understand your point and the magic that happens in these wonderful places. Great loves and friendships are often made and broken there - it seems to be some kind of crazy natural cycle.
You shouldn't thank me for remembering you because I couldn't forget you if I tried. Some people leave a faint footprint as they journey through life and others can shake the Earth, chipping away stone with each step. Your footprint on me is deep and to the core. I'm grateful for that.
I'm exploring a new area of art (for me) using me as the object/subject. I've always avoided this considering it too narcissistic. Frankly, I've found it humbling as hell yet a huge rush when done artfully and tastefully. I don't post any it here on dA. I figure I'm only young once so I try to capture it digitally - my attempt at eternal youth, pre-gravity and wrinkles - man it scares the fu@k outta me !! lol !!
I didn't write much during the winter and spring but the summertime has renewed my passion, especially for 'word'. I have several works in progress that I'm excited about. I hope you're creating - something, anything - because you have such a beautiful flowing natural ability inside your spirit and it needs to find a way out. Thanks for writing to me B. - I'm happy today : )

If I were a little younger I would sooo chase your ass, like a bleary bull after the scent of his dreams. You are young, beautiful, intelligent, and acceptably weird. Definitely capture yourself, your interior and exterior, as it will never come again. I think of the American artist Georgia O'Keeffe, who allowed herself to be photographed by her photographer husband, and the photos reveal all the things that we are proud of when we are young, and yearning for when we are old. Definitely pursue it, publish those you are comfortable to publish, keep the rest as your secret diary. Youth passes unnoticed by most who are swimming in it, a soup of lust, laughter and regret. It moves away inexorably, infinitesimally, until one day any beauty we have is interior. Chart the exterior. Besides, the cheapest model any artist has is the self.
Love the shot of your ankles...very stylish (as if an old bushdog would know stylish).

ha ! I wonder how much younger and why it matters ? why do men think younger girls aren't attracted to older men ? Puzzling. Men age gracefully unlike most women. I drink older 'seasoned' wine because it gets better with age. Societal norms are perplexing and not fair for either gender. I might be young and crazy, but I'm smart enough to know when to be 'caught'. Georgia is a big inspiration as is Maya Angelou. I'm basically doing the same thing Georgia did, however, I'm definitely not cheap - c'est tout l'inverse. Also, I have no need or desire for a husband now. Anyway, I refuse to let my life go unchronicled, unnoticed so I keep pushing my edge further. I'm aware of time and space speeding past me out of my control but the best I can do is flow with it at speed and then apply what I've learned... asdfghjkl - mindless ramblings - sorry.
I'm glad you liked the feet on the dash photo. More to come. Style (bushdog bah!) is the curve of a woman's neck, the tilt of one's head or a sly grin returned after being caught admiring someone. Classy and chic or jeans and plaid, all are style. Cars... some of my most memorable experiences have been in/on cars, trucks, motorcycles, trains and airplanes. I love the adventure and thrill of the moment, it's exhilarating and addictive.
Yeah. You would sooo catch my ass and enjoy every second of my weirdness.
And... don't try to disappearing again. You worry me. Besides, I may just get Brew to help me find you.
