Description My half of the trade with .
If you haven't seen her art before, go right fucking now.

This took me forever, because for awhile, I hated it and was frustrated. I don't know what broke that...I think it was a mixture of playing with textures and blending options, messing with the colors and setting a bit and then I got to a point where I am decently happy. I'm abnormally proud of that tree, and I've tried a few different shading options that don't involve the use of the smudge tool which is making my life less irritating.

This is =bladebandit 's lovely Taima , enjoying a nice autumn evening as the sun slowly begins to set. This just seemed the perfect setting for her (and for the current season!) since her information said she's wild, in tune with all things natural and nimble.

Her lovely half:

You sweet young thing
Stay dead horse
Stand dead horse
Run river run
Sun shine sun
Sing child sing
Sing your song"

THIS IS SO WEIRD.
I saw this when I went to your page, but it hasn't shown up in my inbox. D: AND I REALLY WANT IT TO.

I'll respond properly when the critique system stops dicking around.

Really? Weird...I just got a critique today with no problems... I know you have to click the "fair" button in order for it to show up on the actual deviation, but for it not to show up in your inbox...strange indeed. o.o;

Narf. This has happened to me before, and it's a pain in the ass. I'll probably have to take it up with the dA staff....again. >:c

Great piece! The pose of the horse is great and how it is shaded! Amazing details you have put on the tree! I also love the way you drew the grass! Doesn't look like those that were drawn by the grass brushes that are being overused in photoshop! XD Ohhh and the sky is soooo nice! I love orange tones in the sky and also how the grass reflects some of the orange tones is genius!

The only thing I'm missing here is the shadow... Where is it?e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)" />

Overall a great piece! Worth the full view and fave as well! Very well done! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />

Thank you so, so much for the critique! You're right, I definitely didn't make the shadow pronounced enough, I really need to work on making my lighting more dramatic. :c I'm always too timid!

I drew all that grass, it was awful. D: I wouldn't ever suggest that.

holy crap this is so beautiful. I love the colours of the sky and how everything looks golden-peachy tinted and that wonderful sweep of the ground upward into the hill. the delicate details in the grass and tree bark are lovely, too. I love and admire when anybody can make a character and background blend into a complete image (since it's something I struggle with myself) and you have definitely nailed it here. too good.

It's like muscles, which I find really interesting. :]

Amazing drawing, I really love how you drew the hair, it looks really realistic but not at the same time..? :s

wtf at dA posting my comment before I even started on it.

Anyway.

That is probably the best compliment I have ever gotten, and definitely the best one I could ever receive. To be honest, even though I don't hate my art (like most artists do - the whole self loathing thing bores and exhausts me, to be honest. But that's a separate tangent for a separate day) I never believed I could actually inspire anything in anyone with it.

And when I was painting it, I actually thought about how it looked a bit like muscles. Subconscious symbolism, maybe?

I hope we will be seeing this art that you mentioned.

I FINALLY GET AROUND TO COMMENTING

Anyways
You are the queen of legs.
I truely love how you did this horse's legs, sticking in proportions (sp) and how it still goest along with the pose. I swear, if I attempted to draw something like that, the back legs would deffinlently look off.

I also think that the colors that you chose for the background work well with the horse's own colors. I find that various fall colors often complement browns, which you did a lovely job at picking.

And, your background pwns. It reminds me (espeacially the sky) of something out of an illstration book and the blending is lovely.

Oh, and your hair shading is all powerful.

Kay, that's it

I really do love seeing your art. Especially your equines, the stylized anatomy, soft shading, but really it's always the expressions that get to me.
She looks so happy and you pulled it off so well ;u;! I don't see many equine artists draw horses with such vivid expressions anymore >:

Well that's a lovely coincidence, because not only do I love seeing your art, I also love seeing your comments in my inbox.
I suppose it is hard to give horses expressions, considering their faces are not naturally expressive, but I think force my personality on my art. So it goes.
Thank you so, so much. It means a lot, it really does.
especially because your inbox is so crammed full of things. c:

There's so much life in her mane and tail, and I like how you shaded them. Her pose and expression are great also. The background color scheme fits her well.
I love how you did the clouds, the color incorporated in them and the slope. It gives an angle to the image, which combines nicely with the sloping hill.
The tree is just amazing. So textured and detailed! You have reason to be proud of it, you did a heck of a job.
