It's not strictly a fractal - I wrote a program which calculated the position and size of the spheres which was then fed as input into the ray tracing program.

Thanks. They are actually bubbles... filmy and translucent like bubbles. I don't how well that comes through in the image. Actually, they are bubbles on the outside, slowly becoming chrome ball bearings in the middle. LOL... what a waste of time working on details like that that you can't even see in the finished picture. Oh well...

I can see them, and they come through just fine They are translucent, that's why I said they look like bubbles, but still little clones of the non-translucent chrome balls...I like how you describe them better, but then you've always been better with words than I have Not a waste of time at all IMHO
