I saw your youtube video, and it's incredible how accurate you make them look..
I've tried drawing them, and failed several times..
And your shading is just wonderful..

Favourite bit again is the clothing. It's so hard to get a pattern to come across as not looking drawn-on (or so I think) and you've done a brilliant job.
And the rest of it is plenty envy-inspiring as well.

Use a TISSUE.
1) lay a 'base' coat of a dark (B) pencil
2) smudge it around with the tissue to get an even colour/tone
3) use an eraser to lighten some areas and a pencil to darken others
4) smudge again
5) go back with the eraser and pencil and add MOAR details
6) smudge again, though this time with something smaller, like a cotton bud
7) keep going until the image presents itself
You can probably see this 'technic' most in the video when I'm working on the face and then the background.

Awesome work on the shirt texture. The right side feels weird. Something about the dark area that looks like her(?) cast shadow. I dunno. Ooh and I love the disco ball looking thing in the background.

Thank you, Tabbs. I'm still pretty annoyed by the fact that I can't scan my pics. They're not the greatest in the world, but the photos just make them look worse...
I'll probably go back next year (when I have access to my scanner) and replace all the deviations with scanned versions. In the meantime, I'll just wallow in my worry and self doubt.

Don't feel down on yourself, Witsy, I still think it looks awesome. I think this is one of those moments when the only the artist can see the problem. XD
I know how it feels to be unable to scan. I flippin' went nuts when I had to go like.. two weeks without one.
