The design of this is ingenious. This is now probably my favorite centaur related peace of art.

The only serious complaint I have here are those foreleg greaves of hers! There's nothing connecting them to the upper pieces, no straps or mail. Are they tied to the underlying gambeson? I also don't see much of an armor belt around her midriff! On that note her rearward greaves don't appear to be properly anchored as well. But overall? I PRAISE seeing a Centaur knight, it's so uncommon! >w<

Thank you! They are indeed attached to the gamebeson on her lower body, it's just the angle of Aurelie that's blocking them from view. There's actual chainmail under the midriff of her lower torso covered by the gambeson. The rear greaves are actually connected to the cloth cover of her legs, which are connected to the lower torso gambeson by leather straps under the flank armor. Hope that answers some questions! ^_^

Marvelous action and costume, great sense of her valor and strength... I hope they have something that can heal those scars she keeps getting... a Favorite, of Β course.

Thank you! Her scars are actually quite healed, it's just that they were usually very large to begin with.

You are one of my very, very favorite artists... Β And you tell such intriguing stories.
Did you see this, though?
I could imagine your captain dressing the same for someone who reached her heart(s) through her armor...

Twin swords, a gun and possibly battle style horse shoes as well for added damage on the enemy. Never face a charging soldier like her or you will regret it.

She knows about the weakness of a cavalry formation/charge, thus she implemented a mixed unit style of combat, with larger people such as herself acting as heavy support infantry while more humanoid or smaller people such as humans and elves take up the standard line and taking the brunt of the combat.
Aurelie (being part horse herself) naturally had to develop techniques to counter anti-cavalry such as having the cavalry never charging unless the enemies line is absolutely broken; or flanking maneuvers to allow the main line a better angle of attack; or out of sheer desperation to break the enemy line. She also recognize how important the firearms being developed in her time would come into use and would play a large role in her revised battle tactics.
Why get up close to your enemies with swords when you have long range guns and perfectly good shields that can absorb bullets from a distance?
She's most likely engaging against bandits threatening a royal persons up close and personal with swords instead of her rifle so that she won't accidentally hit someone she wasn't aiming at.
hope that answers your question. ^_^
