Description
An update on a character of mine called Juno Vasdasz, A woman of a hunter- gathering society with an overpopulation problem. As a result, the majority moved into the woods and taken up chastity, and most commonly homosexual relationships (Juno being an example) to take in the overabundant number of infants from the cities.
They don’t overkill though, as they see the creatures as sacred and their hunts as rites of passages; all of which begins with prayer for a good hunt and a quick kill.
Most of the creatures they hunt are usually peaceful, but easily aggressive deer like animals with tough hide and skulls. As such they utilize high-powered, secondhand .60 caliber rifles to take down the 30 foot tall animals in one shot to the spinal area near the neck.
They take the creatures slain and use practically every part of it’s body, believing not a single thing should go to waste. The food they don’t keep, as well as keepsake crafted from the remains, are sold to keep an economic cycle with their city brethren’s.

Also, I like the idea of a hunter. A common theme I don't think a lot of anthro artists consider is that non-sapient creatures need to be hunted and eaten. Carnivores need their protein after all, and hunters are hunters after all, no matter whether they have a wide bore weapon.
I've done some quick research on the round that this weapon fires. The only source I could find is that it's an aircraft machine gun round that never quite panned out.
The fluff bit that the common relationship is homosexual is interesting to say the least since there would be a massive birth dearth in the society. Of course this is because of overpopulation, an interesting idea to reduce numbers, since I would imagine most would just vow celibacy. How long has this policy been in place? I think it would take a few generations to reduce numbers before returning to a traditional structure. Can't say that I would be happy to forgo reproduction. Hmm, quite a few people would probably just leave the tribe if they weren't happy with it.
I like the idea of a primitive tribe using modern weaponry. I've tried using the same idea in a one-off story before, but those would be black powder weapons - they're astounded by semi-automatic weaponry among other things.
What would be cool would be little religious icons, prayers, or mystical paraphernalia attached to the weapon to make it more of a holy tool in hunting than just a weapon.
