Description This is a shot taken from the basement of the 'Gravensteen'.
A castle in the center of Ghent. This is one of the staircases leading outside. I loved the way the light was falling onto the steps, so I had to capture it.

Very nice shot.. but I somehow feel the title is a bit contradicting the composition.. I mean you say "Step into the light" though the light is upstairs.. It feels rather the other way "Step into the Darkness"..

For me the success of this composition is how you have used the diagoanl rrather them taing this looking straight up the stairs. Good use of a natural line to move the eye to a dominant focal point. A pleasure. Cheers my friend, Gerhardt

Rigth I need your opinion on this one
At first I tried to make the light in the door a bit brighter in contrast
So you don't see the textures in the light no more, and it's like one big
white light, but it made the texture of the bricks fade, and it looks less good.
The small spots in the light are from a castle wall outside. You reckon they are
irritating in the photo, or it looks fine like this? I though it looked allright like this
so I didn't remove em.

The last couple of days i've been feeling like
cleaning out my entire gallery, I'm just not happy with
my work... Glad that you like it though ! And appartantly
some other people. Maybe it'll grow on me.
