Description Continuing my series of March Hare stamps, here's the March Hare from Alice: Madness Returns! This guy is actually tied with the Disney version for my favorite March Hare. I'm so happy he got revenge on the Mad Hatter for what he did to him in the first game, yet if you dig deep, he and Dormy are actually tragic characters. Oh, and did I mention his sexy Scottish accent?

This was actually the first March Hare stamp I made, but I wanted to upload the Disney one first and then upload this one after the American McGee's Alice one.

Did anyone else notice that in the first game, his ears are shorter and he looks a tad chubbier? Could just be the graphics... Or maybe it's not that he's chubbier, it's just that they gave him a puppy-dog face...

I didn't care for him much in the first game as Cheshy got all of my affection then, but I absolutely adore him in the second game. I have a thing for Scottish accents.

Yeah I noticed that too! o.o To me he looked like he was flattened out a bit or something like that :/ Same here, I didn't really like the way some of the characters looked... or sounded, but in the second game I was loved everything about it Well actually I liked the plot better in the first game then in the second game...

Some of the voice acting was a little cheap in the first game, but in the second, all of it is good.
In the first game, we see more of Wonderland and the characters other than Alice herself. In the second, it seems like all the others are shoved aside to just leading Alice to more characters that are going to get shoved aside later. I guess in the second game, they had to squeeze in London and Alice's life in real life, but that made it bothersome when you want to see more of your favorite character from the first game and they don't really do anything. We didn't really get to enjoy Wonderland as much as in the first game.

True, the second game was more about Alice and her past, but I still wish they could have shown us more of the characters and Wonderland. Actually I think that's the main reason I like that plot of the first game better *is having major nostalgia* I think I might play American McGee's Alice again, I haven't played it in a while and us talking about it brings back such good memories of it~

They might've wanted to show more of the other characters in the second game, but a lot of ideas got cut due to time restraints. A lot of things in the second game weren't properly explained, either. For example, we know that the March Hare and Dormouse were the ones to construct the Infernal Train, but the Infernal Train is Bumby's train of thought that will destroy Wonderland and make Alice forget everything. So, why would Dormy and Marchie want to destroy Wonderland? What are they trying to achieve by this? I asked American McGee by way of his forum and he said they were tricked into building the train (presumably by the Dollmaker). They probably only meant to get revenge on the Hatter and then Dollmaker promised them something to help them achieve that in return for them building the train. If they found out or realized they were tricked before they died in the game, that might've explained the whole deal better. Also, the hell happened to Radcliffe?
I wish I could say I played the first game, but I didn't. Only a bit of the second. I know what happens in the first because I watched a bunch of Let's Plays and became a fan because I love the storyline. I'm thinking of buying the first game and downloading it on my Xbox (that's possible, right?).

Yeah, like, he and Alice talked, there was a flashback of Radcliffe talking about Alice, and then Alice just wakes up and everything in the apartment is gone. And Radcliffe is never brought up again. It's...weird. All we can assume is that the whole conversation with Radcliffe was a flashback or hallucination and his apartment was empty the whole time. But because all we can do is assume and that that was never explained, it's a pretty big plot hole. A lot of the loose ends with other characters were never tied.

Awesome, thanks! I'll have to check it out.

Yeah... I guess it never happened, seeing how a few of the scenes in Madness Returns are like that XD

Ok then!

AWWW
THE DORMOUSE IS SO CUTE~!
X3 How did he change that much?

Wolena In reply to FlyingFishPeople [2012-02-02 21:26:41 +0000 UTC]

It isn't specifically stated how they changed from the first game to the second, but we're supposed to assume that they repaired themselves, embraced their new cyborg bodies and took over Hatter's Domain. Apparently, this is because of Alice's therapist making Alice's mind reboot.
Dormy is cute here, isn't he? x3 I think he's cute in both games. I kind of want him as a pet.

I started calling my mom "Dormouse" because she always gets tired at the end of the day and constantly complains about being tired, and she looked up a video of a real dormouse and thought it was the cutest thing ever. Now she wants one! XD
