Description
It's the awesome horse from 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion', Shadowmere, the beautiful, black colored, purple tinted mare with red eyes. I haven’t gotten her myself yet, but I’m still working on it.

The model is a preset one that I received as a gift, it was originally a white colored Lipizzaner stallion made by Schleich, which is a company I highly recommend if you’d like to make your own unique models.

Anyway, this took the better part of the afternoon, frist I had to remove a certain unwanted piece of ‘equipment’, since the model was stallion and Shadowmere is a mare, I used a standard Exaco knife. Then I started to add the first layer of black paint to the body, then mixed red paint and a metallic colored blue, to make a sparkly purple, which I then coated over the top of the black. That took longer than you would think. After that I took the plain black paint and colored the mane and tail, which was somewhat tedious considering the small tendrils of hair that falls over her neck.

Once I was satisfied with the body and had finished the last parts of the mane and tail, I used grey paint to color in the hooves, and very lightly added a layer of silver car model paint, to get the glitter effect, and to add in the horse shoes. Lastly, I colored the eyes red, and voila, Shadowmere, the assassins horse.

I’ve lost count of how many custom models I’ve made now, I’ll have to go and count them.
