Description
We lost Smokey a few weeks ago, after having him for, god, probably over ten years. He was a affectionate and interested cat, he, and the others, loved to follow us all over the property just to explore and be close to us. He had the most beautiful blue eyes, and was indeed cross eyed for most of us life, until he had an accident with a car (we think, never sure about that) and lost his left eye and broke his jaw.
Thanks to the kind people at our local animal shelter, we were able to save his life with surgery and he recovered better than ever, his loss of one eye seeming to help what problems he had with them both intact.
He lived on for another two years, and was killed (we think) by a car accident.
Someone was kind enough to see him on the road and bring him up to us, and he died surrounded by his family in the warmth of his home.
I painted the figure in memory of this very special cat.
Rest in Peace, buddy, know that we love you and will see you again.
