I'm thinking of calling the mother Shetani and the father Sultani. Shetani was a lioness born in a royal pride, she was not a princess but was related as some varient of a cousin... or so she says. Sultani was a rogue who swept her off her paws, or more like convinced her that pride life was only holding back a mind as strong as hers, blood as blue that deserved better things than a simple pride sister. Zira grew up on stories of a royal life that her parents would gain some day. Plus, the ideal that lions were above other animals, because why has a zebra or elephant ever been king? Exactly. They aren't abusive parents like many theories have them, more so they are very proud, dignified and selfish people. Her mother and father have sharp minds that could have been dangerous if they ever thought of putting it to such a devious use. They are sly and charismatic however, a combination that got them out of sticky jams often and into the favors that they wanted. They eventually move to the PrideLands and even after merging into pride life Zira never lets go of that self importance her parents put into her...
