I'm in love with this water and these clouds. I'm not knowledgable about these kinds of styles in art, but now I'm curious about them.

Thank you! The style is inspired by Islamic art, more specifically Persian miniatures.

Oh wow, I have no words. Absolutely beautiful artistically, with a fantastic composition and colours, but also so meaningful and powerful. Absolutely fantastic work.

According to the Saudi media, King Abdullah has of this world quit. Here's hoping these ladies have their chance for freedom, if not yet justice.

At first I was just going to compliment the art. It has an almost vintage feel, and I could see it on a book cover at a fancy store; like a reprint of a classic that got some updated art.
Then I read your artist's comments, and of course, the message behind the story (while it makes the art even better) is much more important. Their situations are strikingly similar to those of the people in the book I am reading, Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand (a non-fiction piece about Communist Russia). I can't help but think of all that Wurmbrand has said -- that we in the West can support, that it means something to those who are suffering under terrible regimes, and that those in captivity CAN and DO change their captors through patience and love.

Absolutely great question. It may not be the end of the world, but it's the end of somebody's world. What could we be doing to encourage people?

If you ever find an answer, let me know. I think keeping the conversation alive helps, but I can think of at least 1 hot-button issue where the conversation has been alive for decades and global opinions have been strong, but there is still seemingly no solution in sight for the people whose quality of life have been negatively impacted (to put it mildly).

My philosophy is to always keep doing whatever you can to help others, because people are precious -- but attempting to usher any utopia on earth always ends in disaster. Our hope is in the next world, not this one.
