Thanks for the wiki link! Some years back, I was offered a tour of a Kayan village while visiting Thailand, but didn't go. (There were ethical concerns about using "long-necked" villages as tourist attractions) Your university project sounds interesting.

Actually it was a subject about psychology and women, and I chose these long-necked women. I thought it would be interesting...and it was!
I don't think it's healthy for them though... I read that if they take off these rings they'd die because the neck isn't strong enough to support the head D: I don't know if it's true, but it's scary!
