What I love about how you approached this design is that every piece of the outfit has its reasoning or place. As in, everything has some kind of practicality, as opposed to making a design that simply looks aesthetically nice.
You clearly indicated things like how the character could kneel, store equipment and munitions, and where the character would want more protection.
It's obvious that you put a LOT of thinking into this one.
I've also never heard of the Ashigaru, they seem so interesting! I didn't ever consider how the Japanese evolved once more advanced firearms came around.

Like the design...but the Ashigaru doesn't exactly wear the same armor as Samurai. Plus, in a game like for Honor, I'm not entirely sure if they would have a hero wielding a musket/an arquebus. Still good design nevertheless. Just a bit of a nitpick.

understandable - my reasoning was that for honor is not really "historically accurate" so I was using some artistic freedom there. You wouldn't happen to know what the collar is made of would you? I saw some pictures of them with that covering but I'm not sure what material.
