I'm impulsed to point out that Falkenbach is more folk-metal oriented, despite some black metal elements here and there; unless you speak of certain works that are more black oriented, because I've only heard a few off a certain album.

Also, some more suggestions for Black Metal -- ChthoniC (not to be confused with the video game OST remixer, Chthonic) The black/extreme metal band is from Taiwan, and they're tight; great use of the Chinese ehru (their equivalent of a violin, though sounds beautiful in its own way).

Rotting Christ: Greek Black Metal; yes, there's such a thing as black metal that isn't Norwegian/from other areas in that region Vocals are average, instrumentals are fucking amazing and beautiful (compensates), with a nice mixture of female chanting vocals.

Bishop Of Hexen: everything Cradle Of Filth wants to be.

Dragonlord: awesome symphonic black metal; sounding more like blackened power metal at times, to me atleast.

Carach Angren: ultra symphonic, lyrics consist of folk lore and such; cool concept albums.

Carpathian Forest: no other better way to describe them than "Black Metal in its purist, most sacrilegious and unholy form."

I agree... Falkenbach have other elements (more along viking metal), but some tracks have a black metal feel. I put them on the list because i like the music so much

Now...i listened to all the bands you recommended
I liked Bishop of Hexen, Dragonlord and Carach Angren (interesting band, will check more of their music out soon).

I admire Carpathian Forest, but they were never my style.

Chthonic sounded too much like Cradle of Filth.

Rotting Christ sound more death metal.

Same here. ^_^ I'm always listening to new stuff, too. Its nice that theres an infinite amount of bands to listen to. I guess theres no such thing as having one favorite band. Its impossible.

my favourite band tends to differ from year to year Summoning used to be tops for me, then came along Lunar Aurora
but yeah, having so many bands to listen to is great. I couldn't live without them ^^
