I've heard that using salt water in the rear of the backblast makes it so that a launcher can be fired indoors in tight spaces without killing/wounding the gunner and his mates.

That's true, it reduces the backblast so you can fire it inside a room. But you still don't won't to be standing behind the damn thing because while it probably won't kill you (unless your standing right behind the tube), getting hit by that saltwater countermass would still be very be disorienting and probably quite painful.

Not only do you get flying acid everywere but it makes a great cup holder

Yeah frontlines was awesome game, too bad it never recieved as much attention as it deserved, I loved the way it distinguished between class and roles
