Ok this is from the online game Neopets (yes I'm a nerd). Anyways this is the Darkest Faerie, this was from my first attempts at working with Photoshop and the different brush styles to create Highlights or Shadows and different layer effects such as her glowing necklace. Not much to say, I love this image though I feel it came out really well for one of my first attempts. Comments appreciatedCreated in Photoshop

Neopets, huh? I've never gotten into it myself, but as far as the artwork goes, it's nice.
That's cool how you're playing around with different brushes, I especially like the grass. The linework is just a bit shaky but it's rather good for using a mouse [I presume]. Maybe you could've taken the image into Illustrator to do the linework in there, for cleaner-looking lines.
I'm not a big fan of the hair highlights [they look just a bit out of place] but maybe if you played the highlight colors off of the original shades of hair, they'd probably blend better than using just a single shine color.
Nice coloring work anyhow.

Thanks, ya all the linework was done with a wonderful mouse... anyways are u crazy illustrator?? *dies* ya at the time I was just following the highlights of the original image but i guess with me putting the moon where it is you would associate that with the light source... oh well

Nope, I haven't quite gone off the deep end yet. I'm almost done with Vector Graphics [Adobe Illustrator] class, and I've learned to draw decently with the Pen Tool now. The Pen Tool actually makes it possible for me to work on computer art without a Wacom tablet.
On a random note- I can make an avatar for you if you want. What say of it? I can make your character from The Book...
