Description Kirin done with pen and watercolor on shitty light-weight sketchbook paper. Buckled like Hell. Sigh..... I was unsure if I should leave this in scrap since it was pulled from a sketchbook and obviously not in presentable state (all those show-through scribbles), but it did took me a while when I hadn't a while. I'll just let it be the worst of my portfolio.

Awesome design, I love it's face and the cloudy blue background

thanks I sort of based the face design on statues I've seen before at temples.

The colors you used are wonderful, I love the purple/green combination on the blue+gold background

Glad you like 'em! I got the color inspiration from a plant I have - its leaves have both color blending perfectly into each other.

I think it's really great! I can't do squat with water color (heck, I can't do squat with anything), so I didn't know something this great could be created using them. Excellent work!

The scribbled words are rather illegible, and despite being unintentional they add something interesting to the piece. Obviously a beautiful piece of art...I wouldn't go near those teeth. Love the colors, the job you did on the clouds. Are the gold bits (like the horn) metalic paint? Looks like it. Very nice job.

I don't remember exactly, but no metallic paint for sure. The horn was most likely just various yellows and browns.

I think it's quite good, and I like the scribbled words. I like seeing the thinking process, whether it be the sketch or the actual research and written words.
