Description Urban Exploring (UrbExing) is a potentially dangerous activity and should never be attempted unaccompanied. There may be broken glass, rotten flooring/roofing, wild animals, or exposed wires in the vicinity. Always take care when exploring abandoned properties and be mindful of trespassing.

My boyfriend and I went UrbExing today in some abandoned buildings near our university. ^^ It was tons of fun, but a bit wet in some buildings because of rain the night previous. We couldn't get everywhere because we went in a bit unprepared, but we're going to re-visit eventually with proper gear and safety equipment to get more photos. Even with our meager supplies and my utter lack of working batteries, we still managed to get some decent pictures and see some really cool things, like three naturally mummified cats, a 1929 book in decent condition (we kept it), and a Social Security Card that I held onto. Also got to meet a very friendly woman who is going to help me get a lithograph under my belt in the near future. >u<

This photo is of a hallway we couldn't follow to the end (no flashlight). I thought it made for quite the beautifully abyssal picture. Very Silent-Hill-esque.

That hallway... Augh. Every time I go near that place, I get the shivers. I'm glad that I managed to get a photo that does the same!

EEEGH THAT'S CREEPY. Now I won't be able to go near there without hearing that in my head, too! >n< Errrrrrgh, and yet I know I'm going to go back....

Ah, my boyfriend and I have been down to the end- and it was freaking creepy, got to say. Yeah, we saw the cinderblock wall. ^^ Did you perchance peek at the huge steel firedoors to your left and right? There's graffiti from May 8th, 1968 on the one on the left. We didn't see the random chair, though- we'll keep our eyes peeled on the next visit! ^^

Thank you very much! Coming from such a skilled photographer (especially one with photos of the Knight Hospital, too), that means a ton. Thank you so much!

Hah, I'd be way too scared to go alone.
But if I take a kitten with me, I might make it out alive.

I recommend against kittens, especially after finding dead ones in one of the buildings. Just sayin'!

Dude this seriously looks legit, for serious. I'm sure you guys had a blast and you'll have to tell me all about it in detail. This looks really freaking beautiful. (Is it weird that I find old, abandoned, falling apart buildings beautiful? XD) Totally wanna go here now! Me thinks when I finally visit we must plan a trip.

Oh and dude we found a naturally mummified opossum in one of the asylum building today. Twas rather cool.

Sweetie, we all find old, abandoned buildings beautiful. This is not strange in the slightest. XD When you visit, I will be actually severely disappointed if we don't go. ^^ This building was the fun one to get into, though; we had to climb in through a ground-level grated window. It was a tight squeeze, especially in inflexible jeans. XDDDD

Oooooh, really? XD Seems to be a thing with abandoned buildings, then. Ours was a mummified mommy cat and two kittens.

Okay good. Glad we are on the same page. XDD Okay GOOD. Then we shall go! Nice~ We had to climb up a two story fire escape that's directly in view of the road to get in. XD

Awww kitties. :3 That's cool. It's sounds sweet but so sad. Poor kitties. XD

YOU SPEAK WITH THE WORDS OF KNOWING.
How is this possible?!

No really though, Abyssal was really fitting. I wish I could find nice places to take pictures of.
...also a camera to take pictures with. That'd be nice too.

wolfrun0 In reply to Zankaizen [2010-10-03 13:38:15 +0000 UTC]

THIS IS POSSIBLE BECAUSE I AM MAGIC. BUT YOU KNEW THIS.

Places to take neat pictures are all around you, not just in abandoned buildings! ^^ Though I will admit, those are darn fun to root through and find crap in. XD And cameras can be found for cheaps~~~ Usually on ebay. >u< Everything can be found on ebay.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zankaizen In reply to wolfrun0 [2010-10-03 19:08:08 +0000 UTC]

Indeed I did.

ABANDONED BUILDINGS ARE HARD TO FIND. I live in such a small area. ; w ;

I have no internet money, though, so I can't be doin anything on ebay. x3;
If anyone would take me to finally start applying for jobs, I might, though. D:<

Ooooh. I just got chills. This is an amazing shot -- I agree, very Silent-Hill-esque! Very beautiful, in a creepy way. I've never heard of UrbExing before, but it sounds like a blast. I'm kind of jealous. xD

UrbExing is amazing. Me and a lot of my friends are hooked on it, actually, especially so after we end up with photos like this. I was honestly just expecting a Nurse or something to lumber up through there at any second- it was seriously creepy!

>//u//< I'm really glad that you like the shot, dear! ^^ That makes me really happy, that you got the shivers, too. XD I must be doing something right!

Did you really? Wow, that's incredible for me to hear! ^^ Means I caught the hallway well (or, at least, I got a bit of it the same way as I felt) because it was by far one of the creepiest things we saw all day. I had shivers up and down my back like it was a football field on an overtime game. XD

I'm really glad you like it so much, and thanks bunches for the fave! ^^ I really appreciate the feedback and love.
