Description A friend commissioned banners of three celtic symbols a few months ago - tree, fire, and wind. I designed them, and painted the originals. In an attempt at learning Adobe Illustrator better, I decided to try and clean the designs up a bit. I believe this is the first art I've ever made on the computer (not counting photography). But I hold to the fact that this image was originally a painting. It's only digital because I don't have the painting anymore. I swear.

Use not permitted.

Line art in Illustrator, color and background added in Photoshop

I know a little bit about Celtic symbols. I really enjoy drawing knot work (although a lot of it hasn't made it to this gallery), but I've done some research about Celtic art. What are you trying to find out?

There's a lot of information out there about the meanings of different symbols (some of it we know for certain, some is just an educated guess). Try just searching for "celtic symbols and meanings." You'll find quite a lot of information. Good luck!

Could I use this? I'm contemplating getting a Celtic tree of life tattoo in December and came across this.

For a tattoo for yourself? Sure! If you do end up getting it as a tattoo, I would love to see a photo of it.

I thought it could be an element of a picture's border in one of the four corner.
